Hey all, I've been out of commission for the last four or five days because my oldest son is in the hospital. He had gall stones, which we thought at first were kidney stones. His gall bladder was so diseased the doc said it looked like one you would see in an 100 year old, not a 30-something year old. He is in a lot of pain and had to have two operations. One to remove what they call "sludge" from his bile ducts, intestines, and pancreas, the second one the next morning to remove the gall bladder.

I'm between keeping the grandchildren and going back and forth to the hospital when someone can help out and watch the grandchildren for a bit.

I will be back in touch when he is home and out of danger. Prayers please? He's such a fine young man and his wife is adorable. I ache for them watching their faces and understanding their angst.

But God has answered my prayers and watched over Tommy and brought him from danger. It was so severe, we were all holding our breath for a while...even the doctors.

I'll be back!

I'm about to leave here and will be shutting down. Word is that Tommy was sent down this am for x-rays because they're afraid he may be getting a touch of pneumonia...also, with his levels remaining high, they're doing a scan to see where we are with the pancreas...so things may not be as rosy as I first assumed. I'll be in touch and please tell others how grateful I am for their thoughts and prayers.

I'm leaving now for the hospital.

Your son must have been suffering yet the fact he waited so long must mean he has a strong constitution and spirit.
From now on in he will start to recover..
You are all in my prayers.

JJ of course you have my prayers for you and your family, especially your son. My goodness he really has had a bad time of it. He must have been in pain or had problems for some time. I feel so badly for you all.

Please, during all of this remember to take care of yourself also. It does no one any good when the mommy of the clan is sick because she's the glue that holds everything together. Prayers to you my dear.

Hi JJ

Continued prayers coming your way for Tommy and for your DIL and grandbabies. I know this is a rough time for you and for them and know you need all the prayers you can get right now!

I hope he is continuing his recovery and will come out in better health than when he went in. It sounds like he was in dire need of some help and I'm so glad he got it AND I'm so sorry he was in such a weakened state to begin with.

Please let me know if there is anything I can do to support you.

Ladies, I'm in here long enough to say that I took my son home yesterday from the hospital. He is resting very well, according to my DIL this morn. Thank you kindly for all of your prayers and thoughts.

I'm off to the kitchen to bake them up something for supper...and then to spend the rest of the day just hanging around my SILENT house.

Grandchildren...holy smokes!

I can see now why fluffy little Leas poncho would be too small. Send it back and I will make it larger for her, not a problem at all. Is Katie bugs okay on her? They are both such adorable girls JJ...
I am so glad Tommy is home resting in the arms of his family

JJ...I'm just getting to this thread and am so sorry to hear what you and your family have gone through, but am thrilled to pieces that he's getting better and recovering. I know you're doing everything in your power to be there for him and his family and your grandchildren...who are adorable, by the way. You're in my prayers and I hope it's not too late to be telling you this...I've been gone way too long. Love and hugs to you my southern sister.

Thanks for asking, gals...Tommy's doc told him to finish this round of antibiotics and then stop taking them. He wants to see if his temp spikes again. If it doesn't, then we're home free and healing the way he wants...if not, we'll go from there.

The weekend should give us a glimpse into it all.

Again, thank you for caring!

Hey there JJ

I'm so glad to hear that Tommy is making forward steps. I'm saying prayers for no spikes in the temp! I'm sure his body could use a rest from fighting that battle.

Here's to normal temps and amazing healings.
