Good morning all--
Since losing my husband back in Feb 2004, I've been thinking about an interactive column, where widows could ask questions, share their stories, etc. I contacted the managing editor of my local paper, to see if I could interest him in the idea, but to no avail. So I started a new blog on the subject. Find me at:
http://www.widowhoodisnotfunny.blogspot.com

I'm new to this blogging thing and I had a little trouble with the formatting in the second post, but the info is there, and I'm sure I'll get better at this. If you have the time, I hope you'll visit my blog and let me know what you think. I welcome the feedback.

Thanks,
Copygal

Copygal,
It looks terrific and I love the part about selling the lemonade! Great!
I wish you much success with it and I hope that other widows are able to find solice there.

Copygal,
Saw your blog. I can't believe I've found someone who understands. My exact feelings! I lost my husband suddenly alittle over 2 yrs ago. I'm coming out of the fog of the first year plus and am trying to find my way to a new life. I find this almost impossible to do but have no choice but to continue trying. Please continue. Though I often feel I'm the only one like this and noone understands, I know there are many of us. I'm sure I will return and post many times. I'm thinking or writing.

Copygal and farmlove,

I didn't lose a husband, but a daughter. And with her, went everything I ever knew about my life. I haven't had a husband since 1976, but I had my girl (and my son). He's grown and on his own now, but Nichole was supposed to be with me forever. I feel exactly like you. I am , of a sudden, all on my own, without someone else to take care of, to talk to, to be WITH. I know a daughter isn't the same as a husband, but you'd be surprised to hear how similarly I feel to you.

GOOD FOR YOU !!! So often you feel you're in a situation that no one else in the world is going thru -- your "blogging" WILL help so many others find their way out of the dark !!

I lost my second husband on Mothers Day in 1976 - to a 17 yr old drunk driver - she hit the back of his motorcycle at 75 mph - thru him 300+ feet and then ran him over again -- I was 23 yrs old and truly felt alone.

Then in 2001 - when my son was 23 - I lost him too. Until I found this forum I had no one to talk to and didnt feel anyone could relate to what I was going thru -- I couldnt have been more wrong -- your blogs will reach women that havent heard about this wonderful forum and you WILL change their lives !!

I just know that your husband is VERY proud of you !!!

Keep up the good work [Big Grin]

Should we begin a widow forum at BWS?

What do you think gals?

I know there is a Loss forum, but perhaps one specific for widows might be a good idea.

Thoughts?

Here is my dilemma. If copygal, who is a member here has a blog for this, won't it take away from her well meant plan?

Just a thought. I know this is your site and it isn't always enjoyable if people are pulled away from it (do I ever know!) so I'm up in the air and what do I know? I'm not a widow.

Good point Dianne --

I'm not sure how blogs work. Can others answer copygirl back like here in the forum ? If not, then it shouldnt take away from copygirl's blog --sometimes you need to "vent" in different ways -- the blog might be her private thoughts and the forum could be a place for her to get through a bad day with all our support. And perhaps she will gain strength through helping someone else get through a rough day too.

But like I said, I'm not sure how blogs work so maybe that is being accomplished there too.

Guess this is something only copygirl can answer.

Good Morning All--
First of all, thank you so much for visiting my blog, I'm very grateful. And I'm happy if I can help anyone to get through this difficult time. I think starting a special forum for widows is a wonderful idea. Please don't think it would take away from my blog. We sometimes need all the help we can get. There are several places online that help deal with loss, some are just for widows. Each group has a different "feel" to it, so there's something for everyone. As for the Boomer Women site, I don't know what I'd do without it and all you great gals. You've encouraged me, supported me and helped me figure things out. So Dotsie, if you add a forum for widows, you definitely have my support and encouragement to do so.
Thanks again to everyone here.
