Although a dancer most of my 53 years, as well as fitness trainer, I recently discovered ZUMBA fitness, which is a workout based on simple steps such as salsa, mabo, etc. set to HOT latin music! It is the BEST! I have been teaching it about 6 months (after becoming certified) and my classes are JAMMED! Avg. age? 50 ! We older chicks are channeling spring break where we had one too many 'ritas and were dancing on the bar! it is the first class I have taught where the participants ask for MORE! We call it "exercise in disguise" - it is sexy, challenging, but, most od all, a BLAST! PLEASE ck it out on youtube or at zumba.com if younare looking for a new fitness routine. What if you're not coordinated enough to do it? I do a lot of watching and attempting, though:)

Hey, maybe I could get certified (how?) and teach this. I love to dance. I taught line-dancing when it was "hot" and made a lot of money, but I had a ball.

You don't necessarily HAVE to buy it from the infomercial. I've seen it on QVC.com and Amazon.com as well. Maybe slightly different configurations.

The beginner is going to keep me busy enough for a while!

And as for being coordinated etc... I'm mostly blind, so I don't always see exactly what to do, however I at least do SOMETHING to the right rhythm that moves my body.

I'm always a sweaty mess by the end but feeling good.

Personally, the word "exercise" is a dirty word to me, so I tend to talk about fun fitness or movement.
