I was just wondering if anyone else is suffering under this ailment.

I played golf today, and at the 7th hole, my heart seemed to stop , then made a big like blup…I can’t explain it any other way…and I felt really weird…like I was going to faint. Hubby took one look at me, and told me to wait at the road, he’ll get the car. At home we measured my pulse; 180. Hubby called the ambulance, and the doctor measured again, and my pulse was at 205! Crazy. Anyway they injected something in me, Hung some liquid bottle from our kitchen lamp, and I watched these paramedics work on me like through a fog.

After about half an hour,… I felt like I was ready to play golf again.
Of course I didn’t. I’ve had these attacks twice before, but never quite this bad. It started with menopause, and I read somewhere that it’s not unusual for women to get these heart rhythm disorders. It’s pretty scary.

It would be interesting to know how your doctor treats you. Next week I’ll be going to a cardiologist.

You absolutely need to see a cardiologist. Don't just pass things off as menopause. I have heart failure and also some kind of heart problem that is called a bundle branch block. It's not a heart rhythm problem, but it is one I didn't know I had and a rapid heart beat had something to do with finding out I had it. I'm on meds for the heart failure.

Yikes, that must have been scary. I'm glad your husband insisted you go to the hospital. Take care of yourself and let us know how it goes, k?

Yes, I am taking this seriously. I had a good talk with God yesterday, and asked him to give me more time here. The emergency doctor said my heart wouldn't have taken 5 minutes more of the galloping pulse. Wednesday I have an apointment at a cardiologist. Hopefully he can put me on meds so this won't happen again. IN any case, thank you for your good wishes and caring Louisa, Kathy, and Mountain Ash. You know that saying; ... weeds don't die.

How scary that sounds! Hope all will be well for you. It's probably an electrical problem that should be easily fixed - no kidding about the electrical problem. The heart runs on electrical impulses that sometimes go screwy for some reason. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Edelweiss, I haven't had much time to be here (houseguests) so couldn't respond earlier. This is so frightening, but in a way, it might be a good thing if it turns out that this is a symptomatic warning of an underlying condition that could have had a worse outcome if not caught in time. Like MA says so well - life change ahead, dear friend!! And if ever there was a time to give yourself permission to be #1, this would be it. Everyone and everything else are Someone else's problems - it's time to take TLC of YOU now!

I've been keeping and will continue to keep you in prayer and heart. Be well, and feel our warm love, caring prayers and deepest love surround you...you are indeed dear and precious to our hearts!

Hello EW, wow, how scary. I have read that there may be changes in heart rhythm during menopause, but it sounds like you had something else. Is there a language problem? It's hard enough to understand medical jargon, but to have to do so in another country must be difficult. Take care
