Do you remember the Art Linkletter Show?

Our granddaughter is turning into a little parrot repeating everything we say. Well, today while driving in the car, I gave her a cookie.
My husband said to her, “What do you say?”, ….expecting a thank you. She just munched away and didn’t say anything.
Then my husband said, “What do you think this is; board service?”
I just looked at my husband thinking; right…she knows what board service is.
After about 5 minutes, suddenly as clear as a bell, our 20 month old granddaughter said, “Board service! Bravo!”

Boy did we crack up.

Can you remember anything cute that you once said as a child, or your own kids have said? Please share!

I love that Hannelore.

I have probably shared this before, but it is one of my favorite kid stories.

My nephew, Hamed, was 7 when I took him on a cross-country road trip to national parks. We were in Yellowstone and Hamed had just gotten out of the bathtub. I was in the lounging area of this great room we had, when all of a sudden Hamed yelled, "Aunt Ann, come quick and look at this!" I ran to him and there he was, this little boy wrapped partially in a towel twice his size and he was staring in the mirror. He pointed to the mirror and said, "Look at my pee pipe! It's sticking strait up!"

Amazing, he was so non-chalant, just interested in something he had not seen before. Me, bright red, was the only embarrassed person in the room.

Oh yes, there are some good potty words in German! Infact I prefer swearing in German.

Oh, yeeeeeeeeees!!! When my son was six years old, he announced at the dinner table that we should sell the Volvo because his teacher said that we'd have babies coming out of it. Sex education was taught early at his school.

I swear this is true...
I sat my daughter on my knee to give her her bottle...then spooned her egg for the first time. I did this for a week.Always talking to her ..connecting and ongoingly loving her to pieces. Then to my amazment she said "egg" just as I started to spoon her egg.
She was seven months old .
I absolutly know language stars early and understanding of it.
She also said "All done" after meals repeating us but also with understanding.
Be careful....Little pitchers have big ears.

Seven months old and could say egg. Wow, that’s unusual.. Girls are definitely faster in their language development then boys. And I’m not so sure if the boys ever catch up.

Cute stories.

Our oldest son was two when our daughter arrived from Korea. After she was here for about ten days, he announced, "You can take her back to the airport now."

I guess he'd had enough.

It's times like this that I wish I'd kept a journal, or better baby books. I remember they always said the cutest things, but I can't remember any of it. It's so frustrating.

My sister was a nanny for years to this lovely family with two little boys. She kept a journal of everything she did with the guys, and everthing they said, every day. It is one of the best gifts she could ever give that family, one that she wishes she could have given her own children.

Did any of you keep journals way back when?

Maybe we could begin them for our grandchildren. Now there's a thought.

My son David walked on his own, and did a bit of talking at nine months. He could call the dog, Kelly, say mamma, dat for dad and loff, for love. He was fully potty trained by 10 months. I wasn't as lucky with my number two son, geesh...didn't walk till 13 months and potty trained, HAH!!!not until nearly two and a half. He was talking better than his brother at the same age of nine months however, needless to say his best words ws NO!!!
