Thank a Serviceman

This is so easy to do and its FREE. Send a card drawn by school children to a serviceman or woman. Click on a card. of your choice. You can send as many as you please. Please do and tell all your address book. Its the least we can do for our heros.

Thanks, Chatty! I just went to the site and sent 6 cards and will continue to do so. I've also sent an email to many family and friends to remind them to do the same. What a timely reminder of support needed. Thanks, again.

I do as much as I can for them. My husband is full career military, as well as DEA and Border Patrol when he was "lent out." I am in a position because I am on base a lot to do what I can for the families of those who are overseas. They need so much encouragement and it is heartwrenching to talk to them when they are home before they return for another tour. They have to make tour after tour when in Vietnam they only had one tour to deal with.
So many things will be left to deal with when each service member is done with this war. Again, it is heartwrenching to talk to these young men and women. They are, a lot of them, only children.

Bless your heart Dancer for what you do to help these young people. Unless we've been there, we can't imagine the fear and discomfort they suffer...

dancer, I'm sure it is also hard to see the families carry on without them while there are away fighting for our freedom.

Thank you, Chatty I do have an idea what they are going through. My husband has had a full government career and his job keep him in harms way most of his career. I was beside myself at times and have learned to deal with it. I try to help those left at home too, as well as those leaving. My husband spends some time talking to those who are leaving for their tour and it seems to help them to talk to someone who has been in a situation somewhat like theirs. Theirs is harder though, they must go tour after tour, as I said. My husband stayed in harms way like they are because of his job in the government and those left behind must learn to have faith and stay in their lives as well as supporting their loved ones.
I can remember the fear when my husband had some hard missions and I'll never forget that feeling.
I know how I felt about the country as well when he was in those situations. It's complex but one thing is true of all of those heros: They believe in the US and will lay down their lives for that belief. They feel they are serving US as well as the U.S.

Thanks for posting this, Chatty, and thanks to you Dancer for what you and your husband are able to do.

I would like to direct everyone's attention to our website,
www.thefellowshipofthedevastated.com

The website supports a book project that we hope will not only honor our Heroes, but provide help and guidance to those families who will also find themselves on this journey in the future.
