I have heard Oprah say that her show does not pay guests.

I had watched Dr. Phil in the beginning of the show but I agree Hollywood has definitely taken him over...He seems to take sides, even though he carefully says he doesn't. I don't believe any reputable psychologist would think this show is really helpful to those with the problems presented - one hour cannot possibly handle these situations. I think the show has grown to be more for entertainment than really trying to help anyone.

My friend always comments that he is the only still overweight person who has sold so many copies of a diet book - interesting?

To me it is a better/higher class of Jerry Springer type folks. Why would anyone want to air their dirty laundry on national TV? No one cares, and its like a zoo.

So well put, Chatty Lady! Better dressed but all the same. I don't know why they do it! Then again, I don't know why people do many things...

I don't watch him because I get tired of hearing about others problems. I get enough emails in my field so who needs more?

Did anyone see Friday's show? They were talking about the Jena Six. It seems so heartbreaking that violence was used to solve a problem and that lines are being drawn. Dialogue, true dialogue with lots of listening and caring, appears to be the only thing that's going to solve the problem.

I know Dr. Phil is going to pontificate on Monday about it and I don't know whether that will help the situation or not. I do agree with Al Sharpton on one point, that the punishment for putting the nooses in the tree should not be a secret. I think by keeping the punishment for the boys who obviously did something out of hatred (and probably a whole lot of ignorance) escalated the situation. It doesn't give anyone an excuse for violence, but it sure didn't help.

I will open up far enough to say that I have been undercover for the FBI against the KKK to gather evidence in my life. This should say where my sentiments lie.

Well those in the know say all crimes are hate crimes BUT it seems to me some are far more hateful than others...

Once in a great while I turn "Dr." Phil on instead of Jerry Springer...
I agree with Eagle 100% and will only add that his wife turns my stomach....eeeoooowwww! She just looks like a Stepford clone. I can only imagine what their lives must be like behind closed doors.
She is probably the most fake "wife" I've seen since Tammy Faye Bakker...God rest her dear soul.
