Orchid, what did you say? The bridesmaids are wearing black? Sorry...I think that is awful. But I know black is ultra chic in Vancouver. Everyone wears black there. I remember seeing a beautiful mommy, dressed in black, pushing a twin baby carriage, in black...and get this; the babies were dressed from their tippy-toes to their little hats in black. Yikes.

My oldest son is getting married end of October. Because my DIL is pregnant (yahoo second grandbaby on it's way ), they will do the church wedding after the baby is born. They will be getting married at the Justice of Peace. It'll still be romantic since it takes place in an old Medieval Tower. Afterwards we'll all go out, about 30 people, to eat in a fancy restaurant.

I plan to buy a simple cut cocktail dress, in either navy blue or gold mat, to accent the jewelery, which I want to wear on this occasion. I hope to lose 5 more pounds before I buy my new dress.

I just envisioned myself 5 pounds lighter…sigh. Why does that make me hungry?

Have a great time at the wedding Orchid. A pink shawl with a black dress will look HOT! .

Too bad you can't make the rehearsal dinner. I bet the food will be yummy.

Hannelore, another family party. Do you guys know how to have fun or what?

If five pounds is all you want to lose, you're doing great. I'm sure you can do it. HAve you lost any weight running after your grand-daughter?

I'm sure you can lose 5 lbs. Hannelore. Just up your intake of nutritious soups (not the cream based type), fresh fruit, etc.

An event in a medieval castle...how cool. We are so deprived in North America..

are you near this place orchid?
5lbs is not too bad Hannelore but I can relate to hunger while trying. It's mind over munchies.

Chickadee: We're about 300 kms. away..which would be 2 separate bike rides, with a 2 ferry rides in between. from Vancouver.

These fake North American castles...are funny. Mind you the Chateau Frontenanc in Quebec City (built in - 1700's) is probably lovely.
