I've been reading lately that some authors have been having good luck with serializing their novels, sending them out free via email, and building a readership with which to dazzle agents. This particular article is not real up-to-date, but it's interesting: http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,1284,34499,00.html

Has anyone here considered doing this?
