I work full time but would like a part time work from home job. So many of them are bogus or just want you to pay for a pamphlet that instructs you in how to set up your own home business. I really would like to do data entry, customer service, anything like that using my computer from my home. Any ideas?

Most work from home jobs are multi-level marketing (MLM) jobs. Sometimes these are called direct sales or network marketing, but the concept is the same. You are selling directly to consumers and you get a portion of what they purchase. Additionally, you look for people who also want to sell your products and you get a portion of what they sell, etc. Examples of these are MonoVie, Melaleuca (I'm a rep for this company), Your Travel Business, etc. There's good companies with good products and many are legit. I've heard that if you can get in during the first five years of a company's start that that's where the best money is made.

Many women do medical transcription from home, but without experience, training is needed, and it's not easy to get a foot in the door. Many companies are requiring not only training these days, but that you become certified. I did it for seven years, and it's definitely legit (although, as with everything, I'm sure there are many that aren't legit). There's also the problem of a lot of the MT work being outsourced to other countries for -- you guessed it -- much lower costs (slave labor).
It's also time intensive, as it is production-based pay. You get paid for how much you produce, and therefore, the tendency to overwork is great.

Thanks, all good advice. I've taken medical transcription and medical terminology and passed. I'm not certified but probably wouldn't take that much to get certification.
I'm no good at sales. Tried Mary Kay and lost my patoot. Tried selling Shaklee and really believed in it..but still no deal.
I type great and love the computer and am focused so I'll look into all the suggestions. Thanks again.

I need your advice, please. I work from home as a solutions facilitor and concierge service for caregivers. What I do is rewarding but doesn't give me that extra spark inside.
Traveling to bed and breakfasts throughout the United States and offering afternoon tea, massage and friendly chatting for women caregivers would certainly start my creative mind working.
What does a women caregiver think when they want time away from responsibilities? What changes need to made in this idea and how does one market it?
Do any of you have the strengths I am missing and would like to join me in this venture? If you are already working, this can be just a side venture for now.
If corporate sponsors were brought into this, who knows where we can go with it. First, does anyone think this is a good enough idea for participation?

Phyllis, sounds like a great idea to me. You know there are adult daycare centers also.
But a mother's day out or a caregiver's day out wouldn't be that much different. A massage sounds nice, or a movie and a meal, someone to sit with the loved one while the caregiver is escorted to a fine restaurant with flowers and a glass of wine maybe.
A night at the theatre, a day at the flea market, car detailing, grocery shopping, errand running, nails and hair, pedicure and massage, so many fine treats to offer.

Queenjawjaw: It has taken time to put the thoughts together. Please review my website since it has just been changed. Visit: http://www.eldercareconcierge.net.The Wren's Nest Bed and Breakfast, near me, will host my first event: Afternoon Tea, followed by a workshop around their fireplace. Finish the afternoon off with a massage. All in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The cost is private pay for now. If any companies would like to sponsor 10 women down the road, great. I really don't want to lose the excitment that I feel waiting for this to happen. Sure it would be great to raffle off a gift basket with goodies such as Rick and June's hot flash products. Add my book in the basket, flyer of restaurants and shopping in the area and tie it up in a pretty bow. Just a dream for now unless someone wants to make this a business of theirs. Networking means pulling ideas and skills together and make a good idea work. What do you think? Can anyone see a job for themself here?
