Chatty, forgive me for covering up your post, but I bet everyone will see it and respond. As you all may or may not have notice, I've been absent for a bit.

My mom had total hip replacement and it's been hospital time, rehab time, and now I'm back home for a bit. She came through with flying colors and is in rehab. I know she's healing because she's complaining. Okay, that's not a true statement. My mom doesn't complain (unlike me) but she goes 90-miles a hour all the time and now that she can't, she's fit to be tied! They've told her 8-10 days of rehab, and it can take up to 21 days. She literally started a countdown yesterday and I literally said a prayer for the doc's and nurses. Oh boy, this is going to be an experience we won't forget. Lord help us all.

We DID tell her that the Mall, her favorite place, is just across the street from rehab and that as soon as she could walk to the Mall, she could go home. Talk about incentive!

I've missed you all!

Glad to hear it's behind her, but can totally relate to how she feels. My FIL was always an active man. He just fell and broke his hip and had to have a partial replacement. Good news/bad news: due to his Alzheimer's, he kept forgetting he broke his hip so he'd get up all the time. My comment was, "You can't keep a good man down." Guessing the same goes for your mom, "You can't keep a good gal down." It's probably a good thing.

Those incentives work wonders! Wishing your mother a speedy recovery, JJ.
My mother is forever losing her balance and falling. She even crashed so hard on top of her walker that it broke! Other then horrible black and blue marks, no broken bones. Thank God for that.

God its a bitch growing old for so many!!! It makes me sad to hear about others parents suffering so. My own mom will be 90 in April and except for her cane she is tip top! And I thank God on my knees every single day.

JJ glad to have your smiling face back among us once again, you've been missed...
