Josie got me to thinking. I just detest some commercials on TV and have this image of a bunch of yahoos sitting around a business table discussing their ideas and thinking some of these things will sell products. To me, they couldn't be more wrong. So...let's give an award to the WORST commercials on TV. Want to?

Here is my list right off the top of my head:

1. Swifter - gimme a break. They've worn out the mop and broom running off with the rake. I mute it every time it comes on. I find it insulting.

2. Mucinex MD - I'm not sure how to spell that one, but it's where the mucus is having a party in someone's throat. EWWWWW...Whoever thought that one up needs to be strung up to the nearest tree. Talk about gross!

Anybody else?

Geesh, JJ, there are so many - how to pick just one or two!! I must admit I don't watch a lot of TV, and when I do, I don't pay much attention to the commercials unless they're particularly cute. There is a local business that has a commercial that is so annoying I physically wince when I hear it. The business owner is singing, off key, a blues song with the words changed to talk about his business - really, really, bad.

1. RidX - some kind of pest killer - it always comes on just as we're eating supper (we eat in front of the TV while watching Y&R). This ad is so disgusting, at one point the entire screen is covered with cockroaches...and then with rats scurrying around. YUCK!! Now we mute it or switch to another channel for 30-60 seconds.

JJ, I agree with you on the Mucinex commercial..ewwwwwwwww..so groos I would never ever buy the stuff because the commercial is so disgusting...

I am also tired of the "cialis" commercial ..who needs to see that stuff and why oh why do the less than young couple end up sitting in separate claw footed tubs on the side of a mountain??
Who writes these things? Makes no sense to me...no sense at all..:)

Victoria Secrets - now come on. What separates that from p o r n?

One of my pet peeves (and I'm NOT trying to start a political discussion, so please don't go there) is the commercials we are being bombarded with here in AL of candidates bashing one another. They never discuss the issues, just what someone else did wrong.
I get so disgusted with those. They should be banned in my opinion.

JJ, I agree...but it's even worse when we get all of those US people-bashing political ads up here where we can't even vote for any of the candidates!

I despise any of the making men larger commercials, just what we need larger below and zero for brains...

Also the one where Mother Nature comes to visit in her green plaid suit bringing our MONTHLY GIFT, yee gads someone shot me!

In defense of RidX that item really works and does what it says it does. Maybe dinner time is not the time to say so however.

Ever notice how the commercials are all an octave higher in sound than the show itself, probably so we'll hear it when going for a snack or to the potty.

Speaking of potty, how about Scrubbing Bubble Toilet Cleaner, just gross.

Victoria Secrets adds are P.O.R.N. plain and simple...
