I finally finished this project!! It's an Advent calendar done in counted crosstitch with little ornaments you hang on, one for each day, as you count down til Xmas

Here's another image with some of the ornaments off so you can see what I'm talking about:

I'm so proud of myself for actually finishing this thing, been working on it since Jan!!

That is absolutely beautiful! And the frame you chose really shows it off. Is it for you to keep and then pass down to your family, or is it a gift for someone?

Actually, I haven't made up my mind yet. As I was working on it, I planned to give it away, but hadn't decided who to give it to........and now my husband likes it so much, he says he wants to keep it, but I'm sure we'll pass it on to someone either in the family or a good friend sooner or later. The whole time I was working on it I kept thinking it should go to someone with kids or grandkids who would get a kick out of hanging the daily ornament and counting down til Xmas, you know?

KAth, I was going to ask the same question.

I don't blame your husband for wanting to keep it. IT's beautiful. Let him be the lucky kid who gets to ass an ornament a day.

My MIL always gave our kids Advent calendars when they were litte. It was great, but the only issue was that there was only one calendar, and they all wanted to open the little window every day.

So pretty! Too pretty to just hang out during Christmas time. You can do like the stores, and start decorating in September.
