I wasn't sure where to put this. Have any of you made videos on your pc? I have done some slide show videos in the media center part of my pc. I have a media center. But, I just found out I have Windows Movie Maker as well. I've been playing with it and it's awesome. I'm making a movie/slide show for a family gathering we are having in VT the week after Easter. You can put music to it and make titles and stuff. It's cool.

My dad has done this and had a blast putting it all together.

I am imagining Disney has something to do with your movie?

OMGosh, Louisa this is so weird. About 3 weeks ago my step-son showed me the windows movie maker and I got hooked. I made one of my husband's and my first date and it evolves into where we are now...I put it to music and it's so cool. You can do a lot of stuff with it. I'd LOVE to see how yours turned out. Have you figured out how to send it to your family/friends yet? If you go to media fire and sign up you can send big files like your movie to your friends and they can view it. I've sent mine to my kids and friends and they think it's awesome. I put it to a song by Rascal Flats called "The Day Before You." I learned a lot from my first one in what not to do/or change about my next one. Let me know how yours turns out.

Well, Dee, I had lot of problems. I made it very big. It kept freezing on me. I lost it once and had to start over. I saved it to the pc and tried to burn it to the dvd and supposedly it worked but it wouldn't run right. I usually do movies in my media center. This was different. Then I could get it to open and play part way through on the tv but not on the pc from the dvd. My tech at work said it could be a bad disc. I ended up burning it again last night, only this time I did it from my media center on the pc and it worked. It played back fine. Tonight we played it on the tv and it's fine. Too big too send though I think. I'll have to check out media fire. Tonight I made a very short one of my girlfriends birthday party we had here last summer. I tried emailing it to some of my friends. I'm waiting to hearif they could view it. I think it looked fuzzy in the email version. But I ended the family one with my little granddaughter, the 4th generation, to When You Wish Upon A Star. I love it.

How do you know if you have a movie maker on your computer? Sounds like fun, Louisa.

What's a media center? Do I live in a cave? I made an Elvis video on my computer one time but it was Powerpoint. Is THAT the kind of thing you're referring to?

No. We are talking about making video slide shows (or movie clips) on the pc in a program such as windows movie maker or Microsoft Photo Story. You work on a story board and drag and drop your photos (that are already in or you scan them into your pc) onto the board and arrange them the way you want them. You then can add transitions and effects so the photos move along. They spin or turn or have some effects like you can use in PowerPoint and ease in and out. It's awesome. You then add your music to it, save it to your pc and can then burn them onto a cd or dvd. It is fun but time consuming.

Media Center: Some pc's have a Media Center. I don't know how to explain it, but in it you can play games, make your own slide shows and turn them into videos that you can save and play when you want or burn them to cd's or dvd's. I can download tv shows and it has a radio thing in it. I don't use the tv part. It has tons of stuff you can do with it. It also has a remote control. I can make/play movies entirely with the remote control.

My youngest son is a film major. It's absolutely amazing what he can do on his Mac. He has been home this week and is often in the tutorial of his editing program learning how to do new and incredible edits that he's seeing in the latest movies.

He may be able to answer some of your questions...

Louisa I have a similar program. It's called Magix. I did a movie on my son's wedding. I think I lost several house sales, because I couldn't stop. It's very addictive, but very effective. I bet you are doing great things of your granddaughter. Hey! How about posting a new picture of her.
