CEMETERIES & CROSSES

In America there are cemeteries,
Headstones 'n crosses, aligned in rows,
Marking graves of military losses,
Sons and daughters of those we know.

More than a half million soldiers' died,
Protecting freedoms of this land,
Those souls now soaring through Heaven,
Gently resting in God's great hand.

Stars 'n stripes on flags sway gracefully,
As in warm winds they blow 'n blow,
Words can't describe the gratitude,
Or indebtedness thy countrymen owe.

Honoring soldiers' who've given all,
Brave, strong 'n masterfully keen,
Magnificent admiration is given,
On this Memorial Day, 2015.

Let's never forget these warriors,
Who've paid the ultimate price,
So peers' might live peacefully,
Enjoying the preciousness of life.
