No, not to be disrespectful, but the mode of the times made everyone wary of their bodies as a whole. I always felt as if I were part of a sorrowful sisterhood, in some vague way. Wish that I could have had a celebrationary aspect - "Welcome to the World of Womanhood!" or something like that.
We always had things printed in the church bulletins targeted for teens- one memorable one was "I am Worth More Than A cheeseburger". It gave young women a take on dating, and the dire consequences of being a fallen woman. To this day, and I am over 50, I remember this one - we had it stuck on the counter for a longgggg time. The baggage you carry and the laugh of some of it! Thanks again!
