Yesterday my dad, husband, and I helped celebrate the 80th. birthday of a very special person. She is the mother to one of my longest, dearest friends. I have known her since I was six years old! The birthday girl was also best friends with my mom before cancer took Mom's life a year and a half ago.

Yes, my friend is an active participant in the sandwich generation. Her mom lives with her. She does a great job of balancing the care of all of her loved ones, and there are many! She works full time, cares for her husband, mom, husband's parents, step-children, nephew, god-children, friends, and the list goes on. She cleans, shops, cooks, does the laundry... you name it, she does it. All of this keeps her very busy and sometimes makes you wonder, how much can one person do? I know there are times when she asks herself the same question. Well, yesterday she looked like a proud daughter as her mom sat there opening her presents with her tiara upon her head. Another party to plan on top of entertaining for Thanksgiving? Yes, and it was well worth it! Cheers to another amazing boomer woman!
