I made this stocking for my granddaughter in an afternoon. Here's a tutorial that shows the basics:
(I didn't follow these instructions exactly.)

Very cute, Sandy! Thanks for sharing! Love the mix of fabrics you selected. Nice placement of the "Feliz Navidad!" fabric, I am sure you did that purposefully.

Glad to know something so cute could be made so quickly. My grandmother knitted the stocking I still use. Isn't it amazing I still have it? Maybe when she's almost 60 Corrina will still have hers, too!

I'm glad everybody enjoyed seeing the stocking. When my daughter-in-law told me that she treasured the needlepoint stocking made for her by her grandmother, I knew what I had to do for my granddaughter! I was lucky to find the "Feliz Navidad" fabric. I included it because my daughter-in-law was born in Venezuela and her family participates in many of their Christmas traditions. (Her father is Venezuelan; her mother is American born.) Yes, Anne, I started with that triangle of fabric, making sure the words showed, and then worked from there.
