The 7th Annual Writer's Digest Short Short Story Competition is accepting entries! We're looking for fiction that's bold, brilliant ... but brief. Send us your best in 1,500 words or less. But don't be too long about it—the deadline is December 1, 2006.

The Grand-Prize winner will receive $3,000 (that's $2—or more—per word). For guidelines, prizes and to enter online, click here.

Hannelore,
Thanks! It's exciting really...I'm half finished with my story...I've learned writing isn't something you force...it has to come naturally. Some days I'm into writing, others I'm not. I hope the final half comes before the contest deadline...LOL.

Has anyone ordered the Writer's Digest? Is it worth subscribing to?

I get two writing magazines. The Writer's Digest http://www.writersdigest.com/ and The Writer http://www.writermag.com/wrt/

I enjoy both of them.

If I were going to subscribe to one, it would be Writer's Digest. I use to get it, but found I never had the time to read it from cover to cover and that was frustrating. So ...

I'm working on something to enter into the contest. Halfway there...now waiting for the rest to strike me while I'm awake at 2 a.m. I love you, too, Debra. Thanks for the sweet words...you're just trying to make up for when you pestered the life out of me when we were little kids...LOL. Actually, I think it was the other way around...I pestered the lift out of you.

No problem Debra, they are worth reading in any thread. You could however put them all in one posting if you want to and it might be easier. I said it before and will again, "deep, very deep."
