Heyyyyyyy.....I like that idea! Not to mention that if we had those calendars up at work, or had a few to give to friends... it would SOOOOOO promote the site and bouy Dot's book along. I've enjoyed this site so much, and it's always uplifting, and fun... that others should know about it, and what better way than a 'visual'.
It's a rhetorical question.

Okay JJ, I looked in Word, nothing recognizable as a calendar program on mine. I looked online. 1,414,86 possibilities, but which one???
Where or where is my previous admin. assistant, Hannah, the computer genius? Actually she's in Israel for six months or something... No help there.
This may be too hard for me.
Maybe I'm just the idea person, not the calendar person. I'm a Komputer klutz. I'll probably still be working on my website at the Second Coming.
We need someone who knows what they're doing here!!!
smile
P.S. Maybe we could all do some kind of collage for our calendar page with our picture and bio and hobbies, etc. so it would promote not only Boomer women, but our writing, knitting, beading, ets. as well. Of course we would need to promote boomer women speak on each page as well. ???

Software programs for calendar, card, etc. making can be bought at Sam's or WalMart for around $15. Kinko's or other office copy places will spiral bind them - not sure of the cost.

Great idea , although can we get it out in time to still be relevant for 2004? OF COURSE Dotsie should be on the cover When I first saw the listing for this topic, before I read the posts, I thought OMIGOD a nude calendar I will go to the gym 10,000 times this week!! I will jog through my town until the neighbors call the police and report me as a nuisance! We need a new forum section called "lettuce!" Anyone for a 7-gallon bottle of water?

Yes, it's great. I love the idea but am no techno so I can't help there either. I had to mail my son's photo to Dotise because I could not get it on the computer. I am so lame about some things!
Would this be a pocket calendar or hanging calendar?
Decisions, Decisions.

WOW,
I'm thinking Tina Turner's legs, J Lo's behind, and Jane Mansfield's boobs (Oh, I forgot she's dead. Oh well, may her boobs live on)
Oh yeah, I need new hair too. I think I want blonde. Maybe Marilyn Monroe's.... Okay, I know she's dead too, but then so is my hair this winter. Actually my boobs aren't feeling well either. In fact, they're just laying around half dead as we speak. And my derriere's just dragging along behind. It needs a little J Lo lift if you ask me. And Tina's legs would certainly give me a leg up.
I say to heck with being who we are. I've been who I am for way too long already. I'm ready to be someone else. Yessirree. I was born to be a BABE!!!
Onward.

You guys have me dying here, I'm laughing so hard. I saw the movie "Calendar Girls" last night and it is a hoot! And I must say, those gals looked pretty good to me! Of course, I could relate!! Maybe we could just make a calendar for the computer? Not actually print anything out, but make it like a file we can download? I'm not sure how all that works, but we could do it up and make it a zip file. Then we could e-mail it to all of our Boomer friends, and have links to this site on it. Any computer-savvy people out there?? Just thinkin...as I type...which is what usually gets me into trouble. Donna

Order in the court! What's going on here? All I know is that I saw Calendar Girls yesterday and loved it. I couldn't help but think how creative, gutsy, and fun those women were. I found myself wanting to be their friends. If you haven't seen it, you must. I want to know who the lucky photographer is?

hey! Why did she say "tasteful?" hahahah... Okay, you read the post leading up to it, didn't ya? Well, we do have fun around here, eh? I still like the idea of the calendar, and think it is an excellent idea to include it in with the sale of the book. I wouldn't mind seeing one highlighting either 1) all of these talented and beautiful ladies here in the Boomer room...OR... 2) all of the women who contributed to the book? Either one would be a plus for Boomer Women Speak. Howsomeever....I must bring up my own version of the calendar again...I think a calendar of good-looking UNKNOWN men over the age of say...50ish would be a hit too and I once again volunteer my services to travel and pick them out...hey, it's the least I can do...am I right? Okay, Smiles...take it from here...teehee....Lord I love this forum...

Carry on ladies. It's an adult forum and you haven't crossed any lines! When I get an agent, I'll definitely come back to this whole calendar idea. Gotta keep dreaming and praying! I can't decide if I'd rather pick the men or photograph them. I don't need to sit on any laps though. We'll let smile do that.

Here's a calendar girl idea for the group...
Last week <a *very* rough week, btw> I'm in the kitchen, fixing muffins for breakfast and my MIL comes into the room. It dawns on me, albeit slowly, she hasn't been wearing anything to bed recently...not even her teeth. Okay, she comes into the kitchen with a shorty robe on, nekkid as the day she was hatched, and things aren't, how shall I say, left to the imagination. So, I ask her to please put on a long robe. One which zips all the way in the front, from feet to neckline. She demands to know why. I told her because her son is embarrassed when his mother sits around showing what she's got...or rather used to have. She gets huffy and wants to know what I mean. I explain when she sits with her legs akimbo, sans underwear, there's more to see than a body can bear. She got angry but then I explained she couldn't have any muffins until she got decent. In a very few minutes she had on a long robe.
So, what do y'all think of a calendar girl almost 91? I'm sure she would pose <g>.

Thistle, you, my dear, are the perfect DIL for your MIL. Do you take things in stride or what? Chatty, I'm not sure, but I think all this calendar talk is for fun. DOn't worry, if we did one for the fourms girls we'd find a way to include everyone. Perhaps we could do one with chatty's phone clients. I bet they'd pose!

Ummmmm, excuse me, please...<clearing throat here>...as it happens, I have the software to print a calendar <g>. That's what Dave and I give as Christmas gifts...calendars of critters, beasts and varmints at Thistle Cove Farm.
As long as the photos don't *really* show anything, or much, why not? I just read in Hobby Farms magazine <the May/June issue> there are a bunch of farmers <as in male farmers> who have done the same thing. Nude calendar to support the arts <the imagination reels> in their county school system.
So, that makes the English Calendar Girls, the men gardners in Dallas or Houston <can't remember>, the farmers in wherever and the Boomer Gals. At least we're in good company!

Well ladies, just for fun not 10 minutes ago I asked a Stock Broker from Chicago if he'd like to pose for a calender of SEXY men, he could wear his wife's panties with his 'package'in full view, he said sure, if I take the picture. I am surprised you'd want my clients as calendar boys, some of their fetish's would however make for an interesting calendar and I mean interesting.....haha!! Now I hope you realize that these calendars would have to be sold with ice packs, too HOT to handle otherwise.

MaryAgateCowgirl: Ha ha ha! I had the same problem. Click on the box you see in the upper right-hand corner of the forums page. It says: "please visit www.bommerwomenspeak.com/photos.htmlto view our forum-users photo album.!" I guess it should say, "Click here to view our forum-users photo album." I had to ask, too! -- garrie

How and were do we send photos of ourselves?
JawJaw - could you please re-email me? For whatever cosmic reason, my e-mails were lost when my computer went down.
