What do the symbols mean right next to the name of the topic? Does the writer put them there and if so how?

My turn to partially answer.

When you write your post, the symbols are above the text box. Point (not click) your cursor at the symbol and the name will appear below. I can figure out what most of them probably are except ICON 6, which looks like a guy with goggles or a robber mask (not sure [Confused] ) so I clicked it for this reply.
