One of our ladies mentioned - in another topic - about how it was less expensive now to just buy a sweater, socks, etc, then to knit/crochet something.

Sadly to say, that's the truth. The craft has become more of a "pleasure to do" or a form of relaxation. You knit/crochet for loved ones more because you want them to have something "made with love by" than something "practical". Where once you made an afghan for next to nothing but your time -- it now costs a small fortune to make one by hand -- especially compared to the cost of buying one from Wal-Mart [Smile]

BUT, if you think of the costs of prozac and shrinks -- yarn is very inexpensive [Wink]

So I say -- knit/crochet away ladies -- and if you don't know how -- find someone to teach you. It's a wonderful way to relax and does wonders for the ego when you see a finished project [Smile]
