Sherri: Thanks for the hint about the tour. We plan on starting with the other castle and the horse carriage ride. And the Bavarian cafe sounds like where we're staying ... sort of entertainment during dinner.

Anyway, when I get back, I'll get active in the critique group.

Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

Blessings, Francine

Welcome to the critique group Francine. Looking forward to reading your stories.

Horse and carriage ride brings back memories. My dad would come at get me at school in the 60's with the horse and slide(as it was called) in the middle of a snow storm. He would load up as many kids as safely as possible, wrap us with blankets and travel over a mile dropping kids off one by one.

I love the smell of hay. It reminds me of that old horse. And kittens too...

Nostalgia...It's not what it used to be [Wink]

Hi Chick:

Wow ... loved the description of your memory. Must've been really a fun time. It seemed back then (late 50's early 60's) that it snowed more and we seemed to have more creative ways to spend our time when we heard that "magical" school closing list over the radio.

Blessings, Francine

Francine, I grew up in Canada on the beautiful Island of Newfoundland. There were days when I could have climbed out my bedroom window (second story) from snow that would pile up against the side of the house. I remember it being so cold one morning that I wet both thumbs, stuck them to the iced over window and made peep holes like this( [Eek!] ... [Eek!] ) so I could look out.

We weren't cold in the big feather bed with about 100 home made quilts on us, but we made a beeline to the kitchen when our feet hit the floor. [Big Grin]
