Well, I haven't been around in about a year, I think, so I've got a lotta back readin' to do. Looks like things have been hoppin' in the forums.

Anyway, I stopped in for starters to plug a writer's competition for an acquaintance. She is a small business owner running a micro press called Brighid's Fire Books. You can check it out at www.brighidsfirebooks.com

Their annual fiction manuscript competition is open till June 30th (full length novels, no poetry, childrens or porn, please). All genres welcome, 120k word limit I believe.

Send two chapters and the entry form (avail. on their website) postmarked by June 30th but only send if your book is completed and polished. Ten finalists are announced Oct. 1st and will be asked to send in the full ms at that time. Three winners anounced New Years Day.

First prize is a $1,000 advance and a publishing contract (2007 publication). Second and third are cash prizes.

Reading fee is $25.00
