I recieved a great tip at my discussion board and have included it at my blog (link in my signature) about how to test seeds for freshness.
Thought I'd post it here for any gardeners who might be interested.

Hi TVC15!
Thank you for the info about testing seeds for freshness...I'm new to this site and just enjoying all the different topics posted. I've grown fresh herbs in my garden for the past two years and sometimes they die out because of the lack of nutrients in the soil. Just went to a "Cooking with Herbs" class here in Houston and they suggested I fertilize daily and keep putting seeds in back of the existing plants so they keep germinating?

Your welcome bassett, and welcome to BWS. Nice to meet a fellow gardener.
Fertilizing daily sounds like an awful lot of fertilizer. Maybe once a week? Putting the seeds back sounds like a good idea to me though.
I love growing herbs and vegetables. Can't wait for this year's garden.

I've got a new article up at Fresh Cooking from your Garden on growing asparagus.

Plant it once and enjoy fresh asparagus for years to come!

Another new one up on growing radishes. I found a couple of interesting ways to use them in the garden.
Check it out at:

As always, Thanks!

Anne, let's see who our scientists are. I know I'm surely not one.
