Anyone have any thoughts on the exposed zipper trend which seems to have held on for a few years now?

Images of exposed zipper fashion

When I first saw it, I figured it was a "flash in the pan" gone next season thing and I ignored it. But now I can't seem to go a day without seeing one on someone on TV.

Are "real people" like us wearing them?

I'm not. I don't mind it so much on pockets, purses, or jackets, but on the back of a skirt or dress, it just looks sloppy to me.

Just this past weekend I tried on a denim skirt with a big flashy zipper in the back...couldn't sit in it, the zipper was so uncomfortable! I suspect I'd have the same problem with a dress with a big zipper on the outside in the back. After an hour sitting in a church pew, I'd probably have zipper marks permanently etched in my spine. So, not for me.

Just threw out a swimsuit over-garment with an exposed zipper. That thing was so uncomfortable, I hated it.
