Lads night while out on the patio cleaning my bike off the neighbor whose wife just passed away was playing Country Western music, and I could hear it. I listened closely to the words of those many songs and found myself crying. Suddenly feeling so alone and knew it was forever. It hit me like a ton of bricks and at that moment I didn't give a dam who is or will e president, or anything else. Was I feeling sorry for myself, yep, big time. I put Sassy in the bikes special basket and put on my headphones to a Fifties/Oldies but Goodies station and rode like the wind. Came home feeling much better ate some ice cream and watched Curb Your Enthusiam on TV which makes me laugh. Every now and again after all these years it still takes me down, hard!

Hi Chatty,

Sorry to hear that you had that bout of sadness over feeling lonely. But you sure knew what to do about it: take action, especially physical activity or doing something to help others. We all feel better after doing either.

Chatty,
I understand completely! All these years hit all of us hard!
If I stop to think about my age, I can get really depressed.
So I don't think about it. I repeat over and over, Joyce Meyer's "Power Thoughts"; and I choose to believe the best is yet to come. If I remember correctly, I think U posted an article one time about "The Best Is Yet 2 Come!" A grandmother
had her family over for dinner and told 'em to keep their forks, saying, "The Best Is Yet To Come," meaning dessert of course. When grandma was in her coffin, they put a fork in her hand, symbolizing, "The Best Is Yet To Come." I never forgot this little ditty. We need to dig deep and stir up some faith when moods like this hit us! Love ya...

That was a beautiful memory jabber and so true too. I don't feel lonely all the time just times when something reminds me of my husband and how much we loved being together. I was hoping to grow old with a partner, not alone. But the good Lord had other ideas for me so I wait to see what is coming next.

Chatty,
As long as you believe in The Lord you're not alone. HE is with you! And all the ANGELS in HEAVEN are with you!!!! Remember this my friend! It's so comforting when the blues slink in!
Prayers and blessings...

I feel lonliness, too. Recently I read that the British scientist, Stephen Hawking, says that God does not exist. I felt a wave of lonliness and wondered what live is all about.

I think we all have our own belief system that comforts us when we need it. Just because someone thinks God doesn't exist doesn't make it so; and thinking God does exist doesn't make it so, either. We believe what we believe, and our beliefs can change over a lifetime. I think life has a purpose for each of us; we may never know what it is, but if we're still upright and breathing then we haven't met our purpose(s) yet.
