Today I stood in front of a full lehgth mirror and there I saw a fluffy woman but everything works, is where it belongs and I had to smile. What would I change if I could? I would have slimmer arms. Also long thicker hair.

What would you change if anything?

Good question...for a long time, I hated looking in a mirror because I hated what I saw there. It took me a long time to learn to love the woman staring back at me, to see the miracle of creation and the labour of Love that I truly am. And then I started to realize what an amazing assortment of miracles we are, how our body works so hard on our behalf to keep us going, to keep us healthy and to keep us alive. We really are miraculous!

I love this picture, and have it hanging in the bathroom to remind me of just how beautiful God sees me, inside and out.

The only thing I would change would be to reverse gravity and get rid of all the sags and bags. But since that isn't possible without major surgery, I will love me for who and what I am.

Thanks Chatty! And Edelweiss, I like the hair too, reminds me of the Farrah Fawcett look, don't you think? Except for the hair on the chin. Well, believing oneself to be beautiful is the mane, er, main thing, right?

I think everyone's beautiful. I'd like thicker hair, too.
I'd like straighter legs and more natural beauty. But thank
God for all He's given me. I'm a country lady and love it. When I think of what the Good Lord has brought me through, all I can
do is say, "Thank you."

Glad to hear you are doing better, Eagle. There's no doubt that we can fall into a trap of hating our various body parts and by extension, ourselves. Even worse, we -- especially women -- can fall even farther into the trap and start thinking, "If only ____ were bigger or smaller, my life would be perfect."

But we were meant to do things, not to stand around and be admired or scorned. Our worth comes from our hearts, our minds, and our work.

But, I would be a little taller if I could wave a wand, and I'd have a better chin. And I'd lose 10 pounds. (So what is stopping me from doing the last thing?) I'd better get going on this.

I've been trying to lose 10 pounds for 30 years. Haven't done it
yet. But I keep on keeping on!
