We almost need to begin gathering address's for our Christmas card exchange a week or better before Thanksgiving. That may sound early but in actuality it isn't. That way JJ has more time to assemble the list and we have more time to get it to her in a timely fashion for that purpose. Hopefully everyone will see one of the CC postings and get their names in. I have 24 surprise stuffed envelopes ladies and don't want any of them going to waste, so chop, chop, lets get going on this...HUGS!

This could be my fault. I thought women were already joining in, but I didn't realize they weren't sending snail mail addresses to Georgia. Sorry about that.

I mailed my cards today and since the turnout was less than I'd hoped it might be I also sent a little something to some of the rest of my boomer afghan customers. No use wasting stuff, right?
I wish I knew all your address's and was able to send something to each and every one of you...

I think a lot of people are cutting back this year. I agree with Dee that hopefully next year the list will be bigger. Mine will be on their way by the end of the week I think.

Well I may be scolded but you better believe I am bringing it up on Halloween next year so we have a lot more time to prepare. In fact don't be surprised if in June I mention starting to save your pennies, with intermitent reminders...

I think the economy has something to do with this year's
list being smaller; survival comes before social niceties.
Hopefully the employment factor will turnaround and people will
have more funds next year.

Thats the reason by just dropping lose change into a jar all year you can have cards and postage almost, if not all, paid for by the time the list goes out. It is an easy thing to do even when money is tight. Those nickles and dimes can really add up.

Got Jabbers card today, beautiful!

And Danitas card with a picture of herself with her darling new grandson wrapped in his snuggly blue afghan, made by me, but ordered by Dotsie and all his boomer aunties.

Anyone else receiving their cards yet? I am going to hang mine from red christmas beads which I strung across my bar that separates the dining room and kitchen. Looks neat!

I received a beauty of a card from Vicki and one from Dee which contained a verse she composed using all the letters of Boomer Women Speak. Now I am not a saver of things but this is going into a frame to hang forever more on my wall of honored pictures of people I love, and awards I've won.
It spoke to my very soul. Dee you are amazing!

Chatty, your beautiful card arrived today...thank you for thinking of me and for the beautiful artistry inside. The crocheted cross is hanging on the table that holds my nativity set. There was an empty spot that had been bothering me (didn't know what to put there) and your cross fit perfectly in every way! Fills me with joy everytime I look at it and imagine you sitting in Vegas knitting those with such deep love and care. It radiates love. Thank you.

Well Dee and everyone here, anyone who knows me well knows I call 'em like I see 'em, good or not good...!!! You can use the cross anywhere but it is actually a bookmark. Mine is in my Bible. The mitten is an ornament though.

After Christmas, Chatty, I will take the cross off the Chatty Tree and place it on my night stand and use it in my bible, too. You're so thoughtful to have done this...not to mention patient...I know how tiny that crochet needle is in order to make such small stitches. Bravo, Woman!!!!

Dee,
After seeing the dress you are sewing for your Grand Angel, I know who the seamstress is, not me! I guess I am the crocheter, and thats okay, I love making afghans, baby blankies and ponchos. I am branching out however, like the crosses and some lace doilies for a friend.

Chatty....I am in awe of what you do with yarn, darlin'. Yes, it's more than okay you're a crocheter. Your fingers create (from one strand of thread...think about that) such beautiful creations...I used to crochet so I know what goes into making something, especially the crosses...you have to keep track of where you are, how many stitches you've made, ending, turning at the right place...not to mention the fingers/hands that are constantly moving. You, my dearest friend, have my utmost respect for your works of beauty out of yard.

Thanks to all of you, too. When I saw the card, it just screamed "buy me!" LOL. Every card is so different! Dee, I loved your poem; Chatty, your handiwork is awesome. All the cards and messages are just so great. I look forward to hearing from all my Boomer Sisters this time of year. Your personalities are reflected in the cards you choose.

Looking at Edelweiss, looking back at me in the window of her card. I love the little green trees you added. I can tell you made these unusual cards. How very clever of you! Oh, and your Christmas tree is gorgeous too.

Dee, got your card today. "A" is with us, and loves it too. She asked if she can put it on her own window sill. I'll sneak it back to the other boomer cards when she goes back to her parents,...but then again that may be in weeks.

Dee, did you write that beautiful poem? Good grief, girl, how many talents do you have? Thank you soooo much.

I was relieved to hear you got my card, chatty. You never know with the snail mail.

Tomorrow my brother will arrive. I wish you were all coming too. I'm not kidding.

Sending love to all my Boomer friends. Doesn't matter if you participated in the card exchange or not; you are all a big part of my life.

I agree with Edelweiss about all of you boomers being sisters and a big part of my life as well. If I'd have had more of your home address's more would have gotten a card, I sent to everyone whose address I had. There is still time if anyone would be good enough to PM me your home address, I promise not to drop in unanounced. LOL!!!

Oh my Diamond I adore the card you sent with Santa in Hawaii in his hammock under a palm tree. And Sandpiper your PEACE symbol flying over the darkened town is resting with the others in its place of BWS honor. PEACE seems to be the theme repeated more often in the beautiful Christmas cards. I wonder it its a sign of the times?

Yes, everyone here is part of my life too. Many thoughts spent on all of you. Early this morning, while trying to fall back to sleep, I dreamt I was biking through a small town. I lost my purse - weird - and had to back-track, but couldn't find it.I wondered if orchid could help me. Funny. I guess I was in Canada!

I received a homemade card from another writer friend, not a boomer, and the card was made by her two young grandsons. It was made on colored paper with stickers, and is just beautiful. The boys did their grandma proud. Big thank you to friend Dotty, and artists Joey and Jordan...

There was snow. I was carefully riding on the dark part of the street. I think that's because we got a significant storm here and wlaking in it has been pretty tricky.

Today cards arrived one from Gims and you just never mind...the thoughtfullness of your lovely card is more than enough for me.

The other card was from Ann and Dennis, I am so happy to hear of the pleasure he gets from his toasty warm afghan.

Thanks to one and all for the lovely Christmas wishes this year. It's been fun to get cards that are addressed only to me. Most of the time they are addressed to Dr and Mrs, or The Bregel Family, so this is a switch.

Christmas is drawing near. Lifting all of you and your loved ones up, and praying your Christmas is Merry.

This is such a lovely thread. I believe I've received cards from everyone on the list. Each and everyone carried a special greeting from the lovely boomer sister. I'll be taking a picture of my Christmas Card board and hopefully posting it here for you all to see.

This really is the best place to be online. Such a wonderful group of ladies that share their hearts with each and everyone of us. I also will be here as long as you all want me to be here.I love all of you!

I GOT YOUR CARD TODAY EDELWEISS!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... gosh, I didn't think it was ever going to get here...I'm so glad it did. Absolutely beautiful tree and I love how you made the card yourself...I love the extra's you added...the star at the top of the tree and the tiny trees inside...it took 16 days to arrive...isn't it weird how it took some places longer to get theirs than others? Thank you again for the homemade card...next year it will join the rest of my Christmas cards from BWS Christmases past.
Love you hon!

Wiping the sweat off my brow. THANK YOU DEE! LOL

I just put "A" into bed. Another reason to wipe the sweat off my brow. She is even energetic when sleeping. Looks like we will have our little angel for a month, maybe longer.

My brother drove 6am to the Muenich airport this morning, just to find out his flight was canceled. Freezing weather conditions was the reason. So now he's here again till Tuesday. I had just finished cleaning the guest room, when I got his call. Out come the bed sheets again...and the coat hangers, guest towels, soap, shampoo, and all the rest of the stuff for guests. After a full house of 6-9 guests....I can not fathom how big families do this day after day after day. But I am happily exhausted. And I will survive.

Hugs from Germany!!! I miss being here, but am slowly catching up.

Ah, the mystery card has finally hit its destination. I know Edelweiss is relieved, and Dee thrilled to see Ed's handy work and the beautiful results. I was even sprouting a new gray hair waiting for your card to arrive Dee...
