Your fingers create (from one strand of thread...think about that) such beautiful creations...I used to crochet so I know what goes into making something, especially the crosses...you have to keep track of where you are, how many stitches you've made, ending, turning at the right place...not to mention the fingers/hands that are constantly moving.
