Ladies:

What home fitness equipment have ya'll used? For instance, any Body by Jake, The Firm, etc. What are the pros/cons of the fitness equipment you've experienced?

I walk a lot, yet need to "tone" up! I use a 5lb weight for my arms and sometimes floor exercise for my legs, yet get lazy!

Thanks for your input!

I have every piece of work out equipment known to mankind and they are used to hang laundry on. [Smile]

I have a set of free weights from 5lbs up to too heavy and a treadmill plus a library of videos-pilates 8 minute everything. I hate exercise and I exercise 6 days a week!!

I teach an exercise class for cancer survivors, and everything I teach can be done at home with no-cost weights like vegetable cans and water bottles.

Do any of the ladies exercise at home? Only one!

But they all show up at class every week. [Smile] I think it takes more dedication to work out at home.

One of the best pieces of equipment I found is the Tony Little's Gazelle - low impact walker/strider. It is a real workout yet no strain excellent for anyone suffering from stiffness. I use a stationary bike sometimes too. The gazelle firms up the butt, all of the leg and tightens the waist and tummy. And the arms are also moving. QVC has it on sale or check the classifieds for second hand ones.

I gave my laundry hanger/stationary bike to my dad. It was one of those good ones that works that arms too. I guess we got it in the early 90's, used it briefly for its intended purpose, then hung laundry on it as I unloaded the dryer.

Meredith, I'd love to be in your exercise class. I picture you having a blast, then getting together for coffee on occasion. Do you do that?

I have several of those laundry hanger's myself

I use the Ab-Lounger almost daily. Its great for "sit-ups" but I like to use it early in the morning to stretch my back out. I get up feeling like I'm 180 yrs old (I have a bulged disc in my back) but after stretching on it for 10 min or so - I really feel better.

We're a very social group! This summer, a few times after class, we went to a neighborhood frozen yogurt place. We've also gone out for coffee. A coupla times a year we meet for lunch for someone's birthday, or the anniversary of the class. The gals visited me at Hollywood Farmers' Market once, which is a big drive from Orange County. One or two of the ladies show up when I'm at a local crafts fair. We've also carpooled to Race for the Cure.

Lion, I took a ball class with my daughter last spring. It was short lived. But anyway, my favorite activity was stretching out on those big balls. It felt SO GOOD!

Meredith, you're a community builder. You go girl. I admire you.

I want one of those balls. They are saposed to be good to sit on. You have to use "muscles" to not fall off. I want it for my desk!
