I think some of you gals know I took last year a class in Foral design one with silk and then with real flowers arrangment . Anyway , my daughter asked me to make her a wreath for St Patrick's Day . I thought to myself how am I going to do that . Well, with much thought to this project I found myself down to my favorite craft store "Michaels" I found a small round wreath form . I found green carnations and green ribbon and some wire had the rest of the material wire cutter and all . I talked with one of the girls at Michael's about how to cut these carnations for the weath . I used about twelve carnations for this wreath and it looks really pretty . I loved it so much and so did my daughter I made myself one and took and picture of it and will post soon.

I don't have time to make a wreath for Easter sense it is only a week away , but will make a larger wreath of all roses out of the same material . I find this so relaxing to sit on the floor at night in the sitting room and work on this wonderful craft project .

I will send off pictures soon . Has anyone ever made wreath before and out of vines? I guess that is my next project I did try using the green tape and wire on this form material , but it was so hard I just stuck the flowers in round wreath form ,it and worked very well.

Just some thought

Renee

Renee: So glad you're enjoying such a wonderful craft. I find it relaxing and just a great hobby. I love "playing" with flowers. I've enjoyed decorating and preparing church and banquet halls for weddings and some other church activities. I wish now I had the time to do more of that.

Can't wait to see the pics!

Renee, I cannot wait to see the project! This is something I have always wanted to fool around with and possibly make my next hobby. I love flowers of all kinds. I hope you'll post it soon. I have made a few arrangements for friends like housewarming gifts, but nothing fancy...just a little something. I did do one wreath with the vine. A glue gun is our friend...JJ

HOW LOVELY! Renee, you did a fab job, girl! I love it! How are the carnations attached? Wire or glue gun. I love the little hat on top. Wow...simply adorable! You are very good at this. I can't wait to see what you do next.

And that Louisa...she is such a dear, isn't she? Thanks Ms L for posting that picture.

Thanks girls , Humm looks like one carnation is bit sitting up . have to fix that . I did not wire them in I just cut the carnations with the wire cutters close to almost to the top of the flower and stuck them in the form and did glue some in . I want to try and make one with Roses . I was hoping some of my friends would ask me to make one for them , but no request yet only from daughter . That's Okay , I found something to relax me

I should learn to get this picture on myself , but having trouble with my old PC freezing on me . Thanks Lousia for posting the picture for me .

One of the girls at the craft store keeping teasing me about being in the store about every day . Had a lots of laughs with those girls . I love Michaels.

Well you did a wonderful job. I love Michaels too and lose all track of time when I'm in there...and I also lose track of my bank balance...one would think I had millions. I have to make myself stay out of there. LOL!

Pretty fresh green...the sign of spring. I would stick some yellow dafodils inbetween, just because I love green and yellow. It's just lovely Renee.

Hannelore ,
Nice suggestion , but this is a St. Patrick's Day wreath . I did place two white carnation's on my daughter's wreath for a variated of color . If you look closely on the wreath their is two dark carnations to variate the color .

Dafodils are good on a spring wreath and in a vase with some marbles in the botton of the vase . In face I am making a wreath for my friend in GA she would like a wreath of all yellow roses and will take picture of that one too. I could put a few sprigs of green in that wreath , but she prefers all roses . All according to taste . My classes served me well in floral arrangment . I want to go back and take more .

Thanks again for the suggestion .

Renee

Oh I missed that it's a Saint Patrick Wreath. And yes I see the two carnations.
Can't wait to see the yellow roses wreath. Art and Crafts, what a beautiful way to spend a day. I can't wait to be creative again too.

I love being into making things. I just don't have the room anymore, but still I get back into stuff now and then and love it. For a long time, a while back, I was into making jewelry. Beads all over the place. And of course, there's the work in progress but almost done, dollhouse. I go back to the scrapbooking every now and then. The trouble is that I have no place to set stuff up so I do it on the dining room table and then if we are having company or want to eat there, I have to put it all away. And then there's my keyboard. Not the one to the pc. The piano one. I always wanted to play the piano. About 12 years ago I bought a keyboard. I never really learned how to play but I love fooling around with it. Sometimes it's out and I play, other times, I slid it under the bed. when we had the last flood damage in here and had to re-arrange some stuff I came home one day and [Lavender] had stuck my "piano" on top of the high mirror on the dresser. We have a big mirror with shelves on the side on our dresser. He thought it was a great idea because it was out of the way and said it looked like "art." He couldn't understand why I stood there and cried. Well, he recently moved the dresser out a little so he could get to the cable connects for the new tv for the bedroom. My piano fell down behind the dresser. There are two broken keys. One is half missing. He thought maybe I could still use it, just don't use those keys. I almost threw it out and got another one, but I decided to try it first. It still works if I don't use those keys, but I may still buy another one. But, since I'm sick right now and can't bother with it, it's on the dining room table until further notice. At least I haven't taken up the drums. (but I do have two karaoke machines.)

Renee,
Beautiful wreath! I've made Christmas wreaths and they are beautiful. I'll have to get some pictures of them. I love doing crafts. I am sure your daughter loved the wreath. Great idea for St. Pat's day and other holidays.

It does take some time to put them together but so worth it. I love making them. Hope you post pictures of those you do.

Beautiful job, renee... and it can be used year round, by sticking various accents in it.
