I suppose everyone has heard about Patrick Kennedy's accident and the special treatment he apparently recieved.

I have listened to the news reports and as a mother of a bipolar son, it's very troubling to listen to.

I did hear last night that Patrick is bipolar. If he is in the midst of an episode or is in the early stages, the behavior that has been described would not be unusual.

I hope the media handles this carefully. No matter what the mans politics are, if he is suffering from mental/emotional problems - he needs help.

Patrick is my congressman and a fellow Providence College Alum. I've taken Ambien in the past and stopped when I began having sex with my husband and not remembering it. I wouldn't even remember going to be at night. I can't imagine the effect it would have in combo with the other drugs he's on. My thoughts are with him and his family today.
