Hmmm, something to think about!

Sex's last frontier

In an age when sex permeates movies, TV, music and everyday conversation, and sex crimes are in the news almost every day, isn't it surprising that churches don't talk about sex? The Rev. Greg Nettle thinks so. He is planning a four-part sermon, starting today, on "Pure Sex," to discuss the morality of sex. His congregation, RiverTree Christian Church in Jackson Township, has rented 10 billboards to promote it.

You can trust the church not to show anything revealing on the billboards, just two pairs of feet under a sheet, and a Web site, patheticsexlife.com, where you will see a modest, well-made video. The billboards are drawing a little criticism anyway, centering on the appropriateness of a message about sex in a medium that parents have no control over.

In this increasingly crass culture, where blatant sex sells products from cars to clothing for kids, a modest reference to sex is an attention-getting novelty. Isn't that amazing?
