Sir Richard Branson on "stuff"

Sir Richard Branson on "stuff" - 08/25/11 10:23 PM

I was just reading an article about Richard Branson's Necker Island fire. Kate Winslett was quoted thusly:

"I will never forget Richard placing his arms around both my children as we were watching the flames, and saying, 'At the end of the day, what you realize is that all that matters is the people that you love. Everything else is just stuff. And none of that stuff matters.'"

This is very much what I believe, but I have to say, I was a bit surprised to hear it coming out of Branson's mouth. Regardless, I am glad he said it, and that it is getting publicized. Maybe it will cause the world to stop and think about what matters in life... Who knows?

Having suffered through two major house fires several years ago, I can say that stuff may have value but not as much as life itself.

Kate Winslett saved Richards 90 year old mother from that terrible fire. She will have his undying gratitude forever!
