Reader's Digest Contest - 08/23/11 02:55 AM

Reader's Digest has a life story contest: 150 words to tell a story or lesson about your life. It's easy to enter. I did and I'm notorious for getting lost in the maze of fill in the blank computer forms.

Thanks for the info on the contest, AmyDoodle,

I would consider entering, but it looks like you have to share your Facebook info with them, and I don't trust doing this. Not sure why, but it makes me nervous.

Still, in the long run, I am sure it is smart of the RD folks to do some sort of marketing event that ties in with social media.

Lulu is conducting a short story contest. In case you're not familiar with it, Lulu is one of the better known self-publishing companies (similar to CreateSpace). Here's a link: Lulu contest

Thanks, Sandy! What would us authors do without services like Lulu and CreateSpace?

Another one I've been seeing lately is Smashwords

All the better to get our author members involved in National Novel Writing Month.

For those of you participating in the current NaNoWriMo, I say "Rah! You go girls!"
