Anyone use Quicken software for home or business? If so, do you like it? Thanks.

LOVE Quicken. I ran a large business using it. I don't like the newer editions as well at the first ones, but I love having everything accounted for the moment the checks go out, or before if you have an accrual system.

And you can maintain records of all your credit cards, your investments, and savings accounts all in one place. Of course you have to enter the credit card stuff manually now, but it will calculate interest, etc. for your savings and income producing investments.

I heard they are supposed to be issuing some kind of credit card that you just plug into your computer and download information about all your purchases.
That could be scary.

I have used Quickbooks. It took me awhile to get the hang of it but once I did, it was easy to use.

Dots,
I'm certainly no computer genius and have blotted everything I might have unwillingly absorbed in accounting classes permanently from my mind.
However, I learned Quicken well enough to function from just the instructions with the program. It was much easier than I had expected.

I bet you'll pick it up in no time with or without an instructor. (unless he's real cute or something of course) It's really easy.

Smile, for what company did you use Quicken? Was it a business you ran out of your home?

I hope it's easy because accounting isn't my thing. That's why I'm glad my son is majoring in Finance.

Dots,
I used Quicken for several businesses. The bookkeeper/accountant I hired for the military contracting firm introduced me to it. I then began using it for all the businesses because it was so quick and easy.
I still use it for my non-profit and for personal budgeting, bill paying, taxes, etc. and it is easy.
The old business version is much less complicated than tne new ones to me though the new ones probably have more capability.

My daughter is a CPA and she uses quicken. My under grad degree is in Bus. Adm. but accounting is not my thing either.
You'll do fine.
