What's an appropriate amount to give for wedding gifts these days? I heard you should give at least the amount it costs for them to serve you and your spouse at the reception. Help!

Agreement here big time, give what you can afford. People don't appreciate anything anyhow most of the time. Be sure to remember those ingrates that never thanked you for their wedding gift even after you mentioned it, WHEN they send you a birth announcement....just ignore them then... [Razz] [Big Grin]

Chatty,
You bet on that one . They always look for something when that baby comes. What baby! Ha! I asked my husbands cousin if they like the nice ice cream maker we sent to so and so and his new wife and in the christmas card she said that so and so like the ice cream maker , so where is my thank you note.

Apparently no one taught them any manners. [Mad]

Lookie here Miss Queenie, Christmas is only over for last year. I'm telling the old fat guy to boycott your house til you turn into one man loooving romantic fool.
And as we all know, that may be one heck of a long time.

You all are too much. I have been aching all over like a tooth ache for a week. Now you have made me laugh and I ache some more . You would think I had the Flu. I think it is stress so now I take care of me . Someone suggested that and good idea. I am resting this week from Christmas and my Temp Job last week ,before they call me again.

What wonderful friends. Lv, Nancy

I know the queen hasn't been in here. We'll know it when she gets around to reading these posts.

Nancy, feel better.

Well, the Oreo king is gonna' steal all your teeth and the tooth fairy ain't bringing you nothin.

And as to being 'owned/married once, I say everybody oughtta' be married as many times as they want.

If you can't beat 'em marry 'em.

Marry well and marry often.

Practice makes perfect.

The more the marrier.

Ok, now I really hurt from laughing so hard .. You girls are wonderful. Forget your troubles and come on and laugh ...

What is it they say or I told my daughter about marriage . Don't hit me for this one . I just heard this or read it somewhere.

First marriage is for Love.
Second is for Money
Third marriage is for companionship. Don't quote me on that . I just read it.

Nancy well you got it right...married the first time for love. Worked out well.

Married the second time for money....worked out well also, and when I left I took most of it with me......

Third however marrying for companionship, thats true too and was the main reason but oh my God, what a disaster, this one had no love to give, no money and no companionship or anything else for that matter. Should have quit while I was ahead. Since him I've also turned to Oreos for love and companionship..... [Eek!]

Hey Chatty, it ain't over til it's over. I figure after you finish off the first three, you get to start all over with the love.
That's what I did. And so far, it's a blast. You might try it.
