I went to the IRS page but didn't find anything there with a timetable like the one you posted, Dotsie. It said that the checks would start mailing out in May.

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 02/21/08 05:31 AM

Anno, the government thinks it can stimulate the economy by sending us all checks this summer. Single taxpayers will get $600 and married couples will get $1200. I believe it's an extra $300 per child, up to a certain limit.

We're all supposed to go shopping! Will we? Or will we pay our bills, or save it? What would you do with it?

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 02/22/08 02:10 PM

Anne, I could be wrong, but I thought I read on the IRS site that if you don't get the money this time, and you file, that you could get it next year. I would suggest reading over the "stuff" on the IRS page.

I know girl....you would THINK the IRS would give it to us in layman's terms....would that be asking so much?

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 02/23/08 06:07 PM

So, is this stimulus package included in our forms, or do we have to find it somewhere? How did ya'll hear about this?

I will spend my money on a vacation. Any extra money always goes towards travel.

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 02/23/08 06:14 PM

Anno, I heard about it on the national news. There is info about it at www.irs.gov but I've searched all over the site and cannot find the info that I initially posted. It was sent to me by a friend; who got it from a friend...yada...yada..yada. So I don't know if it is accurate or note, as far as the dates. On the IRS Web site, it says they will begin dispersing the moola in May.

I will probably use mine for vacation, but I would love to put it in my 401K!

H&R Block’s site has more details about the tax rebate – a whole FAQ section. Link to HR Block's Digits Web Site to check it out . . . I’m going to pay off some credit card bills!

Mine is going into my new savings account at Wachovia. June, July & August - 16%, then 5% for the next 9 months. Unbeatable.

I deposited ours as soon as we got it. Yesterday, after practically being housebound, I went to Best Buy and purchased me an external hard drive, so I could back up and protect my files. I've been wanting this for a long time.

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 08/01/08 02:10 AM

Every day we change our minds about what to do with the money, which we have not received yet. We had to pay $1200 to the IRS when we sent in our return. But that does not mean we will break even, because, of all the people in the world to pick on, we are being AUDITED. We were flagged because our income rose because we cashed in IRAs when hub was unemployed. One thing leads to another. Meanwhile, his computer did crash! And his car needs attention. It's always something!

Re: IRS Stimulus Package - 08/01/08 03:03 AM

Doesn't that feel so true, Lynn, everything falls apart at once.
We've been audited on three different occasions, It's like they were picking on us.
