Boomer Women Calendar Girls

Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/09/04 05:39 PM

Hey, I was just checking out the new photo of Maggie and I had a brilliant idea!!!!

We could do our own calendar!!!

Maybe a NUDE calendar?? Hmmmm? Okay, maybe NOT a nude calendar. Besides, that's already been done. Sooo 2003. Let's do something different. Better.

There's thirteen photos on there now and we could each have a month with our leader on the cover. We could add hobbbies and bios and our best posts and jokes and kids and pets and gardens and....

I've seen software that does it. It could be online for downloading????

Wouldn't that be fun!!!! I'm all excited!!!

I say we do it. Or maybe the brilliant folks on here have already done it before I got here. ??? I could try to find the software if anyone is interested.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/09/04 11:29 PM

what a cool idea! Glad we got similin to think for us! you go girl!

I like it. I did a calendar for my sis and she loved it so much she kept it in her car and everywhere she went, she pulled it out and said "hey, let me show you this!" Oh brother...but it had her and her hubby, their farm, their children, grandchildren, their Harley's and their critters. It was fun to do, and I used Microsoft word to do it. I say let's go for it.

Yep, Ms D on the front, hands down!

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/09/04 11:56 PM

Heyyyyyyy.....I like that idea! Not to mention that if we had those calendars up at work, or had a few to give to friends... it would SOOOOOO promote the site and bouy Dot's book along. I've enjoyed this site so much, and it's always uplifting, and fun... that others should know about it, and what better way than a 'visual'.

It's a rhetorical question.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 01:59 AM

Okay JJ, I looked in Word, nothing recognizable as a calendar program on mine. I looked online. 1,414,86 possibilities, but which one???

Where or where is my previous admin. assistant, Hannah, the computer genius? Actually she's in Israel for six months or something... No help there.

This may be too hard for me.

Maybe I'm just the idea person, not the calendar person. I'm a Komputer klutz. I'll probably still be working on my website at the Second Coming.

We need someone who knows what they're doing here!!!

smile

P.S. Maybe we could all do some kind of collage for our calendar page with our picture and bio and hobbies, etc. so it would promote not only Boomer women, but our writing, knitting, beading, ets. as well. Of course we would need to promote boomer women speak on each page as well. ???

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 02:42 AM

Software programs for calendar, card, etc. making can be bought at Sam's or WalMart for around $15. Kinko's or other office copy places will spiral bind them - not sure of the cost.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 02:55 AM

Great idea [Big Grin] , although can we get it out in time to still be relevant for 2004?

OF COURSE Dotsie should be on the cover [Cool] [Cool]

When I first saw the listing for this topic, before I read the posts, I thought OMIGOD a nude calendar [Eek!] [Eek!] I will go to the gym 10,000 times this week!! I will jog through my town until the neighbors call the police and report me as a nuisance! We need a new forum section called "lettuce!"

Anyone for a 7-gallon bottle of water?

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 03:19 AM

Hey Meredith, calm down. Why would we resort to diet and exercise? We have COMPUTERS!!!

Can anyone say 'photo alteration'?? They did it for Oprah, why not us... We can put our heads on somebody else's body. Hmmmm. I think I'll take Pamela Andeson's? Or Nicole Kidman? Maybe Cher? (Naw Cher's too old, I wanna' lose a few years -- no I wanna' lose a whole bunch of years.) I know I'll take Britany Spears?

YESSIRREE!! The possibilities are endless. ---- And most important, they're exercise free!!! WHOOPEE!!! Nude calendar here I come!!!!

Yes, it's great. I love the idea but am no techno so I can't help there either. I had to mail my son's photo to Dotise because I could not get it on the computer. I am so lame about some things!

Would this be a pocket calendar or hanging calendar?

Decisions, Decisions.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 05:05 AM

I say a big hanging calendar. The bigger the better. I mean there is only so much you can do with that photo alteration stuff and.,..

Now we just gotta' figure out a way to get it put together. Queeeeeenie?? Oh Queeeeeenie??

We need GUIDANCE!!!

smile

(Yes, I am the one who took two weeks and three people just to get the photo off the camera for this site.)

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 05:41 AM

okay...we need to decided EXACTLY what we want for the calendar theme.

Everyone have a separate page? That limits it to 12 people PLUS Ms D on the cover. What if there are other members who read these post, want to do it, but just haven't gotten their photo in? I know we don't want to leave anyone out.

I'll be glad to email the calendar I did to anyone who wants to view it so you can get an idea of what it looks like. It is in color. Course it is specific to my sister and her family. It was easy to do and I'm pretty sure I used Calendar Wizard (MicrosoftWord). It's at work and it will be Monday before I can get a hold of it.

While I'm out and about this weekend, I'll look at some calendars and see if I can come up with anything. I don't mind doing it for us, but we woudld need to get specific.
Posted by: smilinize

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 06:35 AM

Dear Queen

Maybe we could have an overall theme of 'friends helping friends' or 'boomer women speak' or something that reflects the overall vision for the whole group then sub themes for each month. We could feature women who are examples of that month's "theme" or maybe that month's "dream". Hey, I like the idea of dreams. If more people send photos we cold include them wherever they fit with their dreams or their hobbies or jobs or..... You think???

I don't know how we could illustrate a theme or a dream with photos, but there's bound to be a way.

Hey, as the queen of comedy along with other types of royalty maybe you can figure out something funny. (If we're all nude it would without doubt be funny. I know NOT a good thought, but....

I'm thinking. Anyone else have ideas????

Yellowwwww....the point of the calendar is to be ourselves, is it not? BOOMERS? Not BABES! hahahahah.....Lord...I am sooo funny...

am too...

Well fine then...I'll be Maureen O'Hara...or wait Bernadette Peters...oooo..ooo...wait! How's about my face with Tina Turner's body...oh yeahhhhh....that's my choice...
Posted by: smilinize

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/10/04 07:48 PM

WOW,

I'm thinking Tina Turner's legs, J Lo's behind, and Jane Mansfield's boobs (Oh, I forgot she's dead. Oh well, may her boobs live on)

Oh yeah, I need new hair too. I think I want blonde. Maybe Marilyn Monroe's.... Okay, I know she's dead too, but then so is my hair this winter. Actually my boobs aren't feeling well either. In fact, they're just laying around half dead as we speak. And my derriere's just dragging along behind. It needs a little J Lo lift if you ask me. And Tina's legs would certainly give me a leg up.

I say to heck with being who we are. I've been who I am for way too long already. I'm ready to be someone else. Yessirree. I was born to be a BABE!!!

Onward.

You guys have me dying here, I'm laughing so hard. I saw the movie "Calendar Girls" last night and it is a hoot! And I must say, those gals looked pretty good to me! Of course, I could relate!!

Maybe we could just make a calendar for the computer? Not actually print anything out, but make it like a file we can download? I'm not sure how all that works, but we could do it up and make it a zip file. Then we could e-mail it to all of our Boomer friends, and have links to this site on it. Any computer-savvy people out there??

Just thinkin...as I type...which is what usually gets me into trouble. [Big Grin]

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/11/04 08:18 AM

Hey DonnaJ,

Now that's a great idea. We can put the calendar online and spam everyone with ads for it. You know kind of like the spam I get all the time wanting to sell me viagra and enlarge my male? private parts.

And Wait!! Maybe the calendar could be an 'add on' to the enlargement and viagra spam. You know kind of a two for one type deal. Yessirree! That oughtta' go over real big. And talk about promotion.....

Of course with all our new body parts, the guys may not need the enlargement and viagra, but..

(((( Sorry, I was just having having a crude moment.))))

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/11/04 09:59 AM

So with all our new body parts, what do we do with the old ones? Give them to the guys?

No wait, they're already lined up... [Roll Eyes]

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/11/04 06:21 PM

Well, my old body parts may be ready for the junk heap by now. Lots of miles and way out of warranty. Of course the motor's still good. The muffler's loose and she's got a slow whine. The transmission seems a little sluggish and the tires are going bald. She starts a little slow, but boy once she starts purring, there's no stopping her. Can climb any hill and will pass any of those fancy new models on the road.

WHOOEEEE!! Can't wait to see photos of our sleek new bodies on some mechanic's wall.

Onward.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/12/04 08:38 AM

WOW!! What a concept. Maybe it's not our bodies that need upgrading. Maybe we just need new DRIVERS. WHOOEE. I'm thinking Keneau? Reeves, Brian Pitts, that guy in Cold Mountain (forgot his name--senior moment),

Maybe we're a bunch of classics!!! And a classic can't be improved upon. Maybe we just need a little "restoration" and a new driver-or two. In my case it might take a lot of restoration like "Extreme Makeover"!! I think I might have overinflated the tires a little too. In fact, the whole body may be over inflated. And the paint job is beginning to crack a little, but... Shucks, fact is, I already got a new driver and boy is he ever getting the old motor going. WHOOEEE!!

Onward.

Dotsie,

Can't you get these women under control? Mention nudity and young men and everybody gets crazy.

Of course I would never be a part of any kind of hanky panky (of course not). But there's some really wild boomer women running around here causing havoc.

You're going to have to DO something.

Howsomeever...in the interest of cammerodereeee...uh...calm-e-rod...uh..cam-er...oh heck..in getting along, I volunteer to interview all of the MEN who you all think should be on our calendar...no..no...don't thank me. It is the least I can do as your Queen...ahem...what?

Posted by: smilinize

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 01/12/04 06:07 PM

Of course this calendar thing started with a serious post. Serious as dirt.

Problem is, these rowdy boomer women got ahold of it and they "Corrupted it" Corrupted I tell ya'!!

The elegant calendar with formally posed photos and words of wisdom that I envisioned has veered completely out of control. Now we've got photos of a bunch of wild boomer women in other people's bodies with HUNKS on their laps and we're being spammed around the world with "enlargement" products and viagra. How did this happen?

I can't imagine. And of course "I" am completely blameless. "I" would never even Think of such a thing. And "I" would never allow a HUNK to sit on "My" lap! Never! Well, of course if it was Brian Pitts or Keneau Reeves or...

Oh forget I said that. I'm telling ya, I'm perfectly innocent. It was these 'other' boomers that corrupted me.

These women need Supervision!!!

Honey, this is age of the computer!

Can you say, "photo enhancement?" We don't have to just "look good for our age" We can BE any age we want.

And I need to revise my image a little. Previously I was opting for all those dead women's body parts, well, I changed my mind. Half my body parts are already dead anyway so why would I want more?

I want dibs on Nicole Kidman's legs, J Lo's behind and I would take just about any of those boobs I saw on the Golden 'Globes'. Boy was there ever some excellent implants on that show.

Actually I've considered being an implant donor. Problem is, I can't seem to get these boobs of mine off the couch.

Back to the calendar, as soon as I get those body parts, I'm READY!!!! Bring on the HUNKS!!

hey! Why did she say "tasteful?" hahahah...

Okay, you read the post leading up to it, didn't ya? Well, we do have fun around here, eh?

I still like the idea of the calendar, and think it is an excellent idea to include it in with the sale of the book. I wouldn't mind seeing one highlighting either

1) all of these talented and beautiful ladies here in the Boomer room...OR...
2) all of the women who contributed to the book?

Either one would be a plus for Boomer Women Speak.

Howsomeever....I must bring up my own version of the calendar again...I think a calendar of good-looking UNKNOWN men over the age of say...50ish would be a hit too and I once again volunteer my services to travel and pick them out...hey, it's the least I can do...am I right? [Big Grin]

I'm all for it. I'll even let you take the photos. And you can do the interviews too. But I get to pose with the guys... sitting on my lap.

Now I think that's fair. Don't you?

Uh huh, yessirree! I'm all for it. YOu just photograph away. Calendar guys here we come!!

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 03/23/04 05:52 AM

Here's a calendar girl idea for the group...

Last week <a *very* rough week, btw> I'm in the kitchen, fixing muffins for breakfast and my MIL comes into the room. It dawns on me, albeit slowly, she hasn't been wearing anything to bed recently...not even her teeth. Okay, she comes into the kitchen with a shorty robe on, nekkid as the day she was hatched, and things aren't, how shall I say, left to the imagination. So, I ask her to please put on a long robe. One which zips all the way in the front, from feet to neckline. She demands to know why. I told her because her son is embarrassed when his mother sits around showing what she's got...or rather used to have. She gets huffy and wants to know what I mean. I explain when she sits with her legs akimbo, sans underwear, there's more to see than a body can bear. She got angry but then I explained she couldn't have any muffins until she got decent. In a very few minutes she had on a long robe.

So, what do y'all think of a calendar girl almost 91? I'm sure she would pose <g>.

Re: Boomer Women Calendar Girls - 03/23/04 06:19 AM

I hate to be a wet rag about the nude calendar, me of all people, the phone slut BUT lets get serious here. If you do a 12 month calendar people will be left out and feelings will be hurt, so nmaybe it could feature 3 or 4 on a page. I for one don't even know how to take or send a picture, so that leaves me out. Since thats true, I may as well shut up since it's not likely I'll be a part of this anyhow. Have fun ladies and remember pictures can come back to haunt us.... [Wink]

Chatty, I'm not sure, but I think all this calendar talk is for fun. DOn't worry, if we did one for the fourms girls we'd find a way to include everyone.

Perhaps we could do one with chatty's phone clients. [Razz] I bet they'd pose!

HA! Ohhhhhh yes we were serious. Well, at least we were serious about wanting to travel the US and take photos of goreous men posing for it...teehee...what? what?

Hey...a girl can dream...

Chatty...we had discussed in a previous post that IF this calendar thing got off the ground, we would put more than one on the page, so not to worry. Nor worry bout your pic. NO WAY would we leave you out. You could always mail a pic and we could scan it in. Viola! You're in!

I for one hope we do it and when Dotsie has her Boomer Women convention, she can sell them there.

Ummmmm, excuse me, please...<clearing throat here>...as it happens, I have the software to print a calendar <g>. That's what Dave and I give as Christmas gifts...calendars of critters, beasts and varmints at Thistle Cove Farm.

As long as the photos don't *really* show anything, or much, why not? I just read in Hobby Farms magazine <the May/June issue> there are a bunch of farmers <as in male farmers> who have done the same thing. Nude calendar to support the arts <the imagination reels> in their county school system.

So, that makes the English Calendar Girls, the men gardners in Dallas or Houston <can't remember>, the farmers in wherever and the Boomer Gals. At least we're in good company!

I am surprised you'd want my clients as calendar boys, some of their fetish's would however make for an interesting [Razz] calendar and I mean interesting.....haha!! You guys are a hoot, and I am slow because I can't find the place on the site where there are photos of people. I've looked for a link but it eludes me. Assistance please?

MaryAgateCowgirl:

Ha ha ha! I had the same problem. Click on the box you see in the upper right-hand corner of the forums page. It says:

"please visit www.bommerwomenspeak.com/photos.html
to view our forum-users photo album.!"

I guess it should say, "Click here to view our forum-users photo album." I had to ask, too!

Thanks Garrie. I'd never have thought to look there. I think the letters should flash or something. Maybe a picture of a photo album, with photos in it, with the pages turning... that would have caught my eye. [Wink]

While we're on the topic, any other pictures for the album? Sherri's should be up soon. SHe just sent her picture this week. Wait 'til you see her pleasant face! [Big Grin]

How and were do we send photos of ourselves?

JawJaw - could you please re-email me? For whatever cosmic reason, my e-mails were lost when my computer went down.
