New in the Boomer World?

New in the Boomer World? - 10/15/15 05:02 PM

Hey everyone,

I have been talking now and then with a couple of Boomer book authors, about whether or not it would be possible to create an entity SORT OF LIKE AARP, but just for Boomers.

I'm intrigued with the concept, especially since I know so many NABBW and BWS members have absolutely no interest in being a member of AARP.

So I'm curious, do you see any benefit to such an organization? What would it need to offer to gain your interest?

I'm here in Canada so really any organization has to address Canadian benefits.

There is a magazine "Zoomer" targeted to a snappier lifestyle (maybe expensive) for boomers.

In reality, I think people over 55+ like some financial discounts, but would be more interested in snappier articles with some academic exploration on history, travel, health, etc. Like any demographic there are some major disparities in income, values (feminism is a good one with a wide divergence of that definition and expression how each boomer woman has lived it).

Good points, Orchid, thanks! And we would not ignore our friends in Canada with whatever we do.

What else would people like to see a Boomer focused organization do for them?
