T-Shirt Quilts - 08/07/07 12:08 PM

Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to attach a photo to a post? I just finished a king-sized t-shirt quilt that I'm proud of and wanted to post a photo to show it off.......but can't figure out how. Can anybody help?

Thanks!

If you want pictures to show up under your name, they will have to be uploaded in your "profile" on YOUR homepage here. They must be hosted on online.

If you want pictures to go within the BODY of a reply, they can be added by either putting "[image]" before the picture URL address and of course, "[/image]" at the end of it.

The URL is the address of the picture where it appears ONLINE. I'm sure you knew this, just fyi...

Ann, the photo of your quilt needs to be "hosted" online somewhere. Then the URL that JJ talks about is the address of that hosted picture.

Several people on here use free online photo albums, but I don't know the names of them. If you want, you can send the photo to me and I can size it properly, post it online, and then send you the url to put in your forum post.

If you do the image yourself, remember that it should only be 72dpi, or it will take too long to load.

Send me a private message if you want help.

Photo bucket is a good website to help you post pictures in forums.

Photo Bucket

Once you've downloaded your pictures there it's easy to download them here.

Below where you post messages there is a section that says Instant UBB code. Pick Image and insert the url in that box.

I'm not good at explaining, but I hope you can figure it out.

I would love to see your quilt.

This is Ann's Quilt - isn't it wonderful? I think it's a really creative idea to use all those fun shirts we get when we visit places. Now they can cover up with memories!

OMGosh! This is beautiful and how clever of you! What a keepsake, as well. And I love the blue. Isn't it funny how it compliments ALL of the shirts? Who would have thunk it!

You go girl!

Thanks so much Kathy for posting the pic for me!
This is actually the 3rd quilt I've made this way. The first one was for my husband and me,with fishing tournament shirts like this one. The 2nd one was for my nephew, made with tshirts from his college days - lots of fraternity stuff. And this one is actually for a friend.....he gave me his t-shirts (mostly fishing tournaments) and paid for all the materials needed.
Think I originally got the idea from a magazine and then I found instructions on how to make it online. If anyone wants the instructions, let me know and I'll dig around and see if I can find the website.
Thanks again -- I just wanted to share!

Just decided that I'm going to make another of these quilts and donate it to the fishing tournament for the disabled vets that my husband and I are helping to organize. The tournament is next April, so I have plenty of time. Going to make the quilt of t-shirts from past tournaments, and we're either going to auction it off at the tournament or make it a raffle prize (we do all kinds of things as fundraisers). Have asked a few of the guys who participate in the tournaments and they all think it's a great idea. My only worry is -- they're all going to want to send me t-shirts and have me make them one of their own..........

Some of the shirts were new and some were well-worn. Here's a link to the set of directions I used:

and here's another one with lots of links to more sites about t-shirt quilts:

Just came across this, Crosstitch, that quilt is awesome, I love it. I wish I had that kind of talent. I'm going to show it to my friend Maggie who used to do a bit of quilting. She may be inspired.
