Bead Angel, you 're really an artist! Do you sell these at craft shows?

We always have several here and in cities close by. Your work is every bit as good as if not better than what I've seen at those shows.

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/08/05 11:16 PM

Hee, nope, just bead for myself and as a hobby. Also I live in Singapore and there's no craft shows like what you have there, ENVY!!!

Cheers!

Wow, you live in Singapore! Are you oriental? Tell me about yourself.

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/09/05 12:38 PM

Heee, Oriental, yep, Asian! Singapore's a small tropical Island - so we don't get the four seasons here (I guess that's why I gave up knitting - too warm to wear anything knitted)
It's an advance and clean city.

Me - I'm still living with my parents - I know! - the chinese culture is different, the parents want's you to stay with them until you get married (yep still single) and gets angry if you move out by yourself.

If anyone planning to come Singapore, I have a whole lot of cheap craft wholesalers to recommend!

Cheers!

I'd love to hear more about your lifestyle. Two of our children are adopted from Korea!

I look at your jewelry and sit here shaking my head. Amazing.

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/09/05 10:34 PM

Bead Angel, I lived with my parents until I got married at the age of 24 more than 30 years ago. My parents thought it was a bad thing for a girl to go live off on her own in an apartment. I was not allowed to even at the age of 21. I didn't protest either. I just grew up thinking that's the way it was supposed to be.

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/11/05 08:55 AM

I guess that's how we build our beliefs and culture around - what kind of beliefs our parents instill in us. We are like that too, I'm 32 and still living with my parents (not married yet) and sometimes I really feels like moving out to live by myself.

Cheers!

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/11/05 07:28 PM

Well Bead Angel, if you can afford to live by yourself and you'd really like to then why not?

Do you work at a job that would keep you self-sustaining?

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/11/05 07:31 PM

Bead, our first two are adopted (they are now 18 and 20). I got pregnant while waiting for our second child to arrive from Korea. He's 17. Life is full!

My husband and I were just browsing yoru site while sitting at our daughter's dance competition. He's as amazed by your creations as I am.

Thanks, but I still consider beading a hobby right now, still not beading to sell.
Must be so proud of her.

Best wishes to you and your whole family, and an early Merry Christmas!

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/14/05 08:23 AM

Thanks, will definitely announce it to the world when I do.

Yep, a lot of my friends got married for the sake of wanting a marriage and got divorced in the end, I'm just the type of person who wants things differently.
They always ask me, you two have been together for so long so why not just get married? hum still don't know how to explain my feelings to them.

Cheers!

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/14/05 12:31 AM

Hi Bead Angel!

When people ask you why you're not married yet just politely change the subject if it makes you uncomfortable. I was 24 and my husband 31 when we got married over 30 years ago. We dated for three and a half years first, so we were very ready for marriage. Marriage is a serious matter so if you feel you're not ready for it you shouldn't do it.

So, how is the weather in Singapore today? How do you prepare for Christmas?

It took my dear friend almost two years to finally get her adopted daughter from Beijing last August. The little girl was found abandoned in a field by a farmer. The little girl is three years old and has a serious cleft palate which my friend is having fixed for her. My cousin's daughter has two little girls that she adopted from China as well. They are all sweet, beautiful children and loved very much by their new parents.

I hope you have a good day and let me know how you are!

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/14/05 10:39 AM

Thanks both of ya,

I just tell them I'm not ready yet and change the subject like what Ladybug says.

The weather here, it's still tropically warm even at Christimas.

Hum "chibi" it's just probably a name just like my mandarin name lizhen.

Thanks again for all the support you all are giving me.

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/16/05 04:40 AM

Hi Bead Angel! I was out for most of the day. I took my older neighbor Marge, to her doctor.

I have two brothers too. One is 60 years old and the other is 51. I'm the middle child. My parents are still living. They have a home in Ohio and another home in Florida where they are now. My mom is 79 and my dad is 89.

I'm a strict vegetarian now but I use to love crab and prawns. What is Laksa? I love to cook and my family does enjoy my cooking. I make my own bread by hand but I also have a bread machine.

I have lots of gardens and love to plant things and tend my gardens. I have many bird feeders on my property and 38 different species of birds to see every day. Do you like to garden and grow things?

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/16/05 10:56 AM

Ohh a garden, as Singapore is a small island only the very rich can afford a house with garden, the rest of us middle-class only lives in apartments and there's definitely no gardening for me.

Both my elder brother's married and both have a girl each, one's turning two soon and the other is turning 3 next year.
My parents are both 61, they used to be farmers when they were young but retired because the government reclaimed the land for housing.

So I grew up on a farm and hence the yearn for a GARDEN!

Re: Made 2 Beaded Ball Necklace - 12/16/05 11:55 PM

Hi Bead Angel,

It was another day of taking my elderly neighbor to a doctor's appointment.

Gardening is my way of relaxing. I love to divide my plants and share them with others. I do have a green thumb. My favorite stores are nurseries that sell plants. I enjoy advising people on what is best to grow here. We are considered to be in zone 5 here in northeast Ohio.

Have a good day Angel and thanks for telling me about your family.
