Some of my paintings here. Over a long time, I will post more of my stuff.

Not that I expect people to understand it all. smile

A lot of other stuff has happened in life. Later I'll get to the highlights..

Hi Orchid, Thanks for sharing your pictures. Like your other work, they are very powerful. It's good to see you here again, and we'd love to hear more about what's been going on in your life.

100,000 local residents displaced in Calgary. And I heard nothing in the US news about it before this. That is mind-boggling. I hope you have a place to live right now.

Am fine. Am one of 1,000+ employees (out of 14,000 employees) that have to work from home because our office building's electrical and mechanical systems were completely damaged.

It's been like this the whole summer. Anyway..

It's good to hear from you Orchid.

Glad you're fine. Sorry to hear about your office building - though personally I like working from home.

I suspect there area lot of other buildings that were also destroyed. What's the ETA for full recovery of the whole area?

What does ETA mean?

Working from home in this situation, has been thrust on employees who haven't fully rearranged their job to because of the post-disaster recovery phase.

Part of my job requires collaborating with internal clients and other business depts....both which won't happen in a fully productive way, when other parts of the organization aren't normal either.

It's different being self-employed vs. working from home regularily (not just one-offs, ie. several times per yr. to focus on report writing, etc.) which within our employer's conditions, would be a signed agreement, arrangements on ergonomics and other stuff agreed between employee and manager.

Part of job is affected also because certain projects are on hold 'cause there maybe other pressing new project work required by senior management. Will know soon.

Hi Orchid,

ETA was probably not the best term to use to explain my real question. I used ETA as an acronym for "estimated time of arrival," by which I REALLY meant, "how soon (does anyone estimate) your workplace will be back in fully functional condition, allowing all of you to return to your offices?

Sorry for the confusing terminology.
