Zimmerman to be charged with Martin shooting

I just read an article in the Washington Post that says that according to a law enforcement official close to the investigation that Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey plans to charge neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, before day's end.

The article also notes that we don't know exactly what charge Zimmerman will face. But meanwhile, it sounds like Zimmerman's attorney's have not only withdrawn from the case, but also said they do not know where Zimmerman is.

“You can stop looking in Florida,” Uhrig told reporters. “Look much further away than that.”

This story has certainly galvanized public attention throughout the country. I'm not sure there's a safe place for Zimmerman to go into hiding.

But I do think this will make a great "ripped from the headlines" story. Who's going to write it?

I've been so hoping that this shooting was an accident. It's heartbreaking to see a handsome, young life deliberately taken out of hateful motives.

I'm sure more will come of this. wondering if it will lead to sit-ins, marches and picketing as we had in the 60s...

I heard somewhere that the prosecution is having a difficult
time with that "Stand Your Ground" law. Some say it doesn't apply in this case. Others say it does. But IMHO due to all the mob scenes, they're afraid not to charge the guy. Too many young people are dying, too many innocent people being hounded, and too many guilty parties going free!!!! Just sayin'!!!
