A "Honey" of a Homemade Hot Cocoa

A "Honey" of a Homemade Hot Cocoa - 10/29/07 01:22 PM

I mentioned this last year....

A heaping teaspoon of honey (good, local honey)
A heaping teaspoon of cocoa powder
About 1/2 cup powdered milk

Add boiling water.

Note: The above measurements are approximates according to my taste. You may adjust. I also add, now and then, a capful of orange, almond, rum extract when I feel the desire.

For me, I will NEVER go back to powdered, junky, fake hot cocoa again. With this, I can meter my sweetness and cocoa.

If you try this, please let us know!

It is soooo good and tastes like ice cream. I add those baby marshmallows when its steaming hot, too delicious. Oh and my grandson was over when I made some of this cocoa and he said, grams, this would be really good with a peppermint stick in the cup. So tomorrow I will buy some candy canes. Great recipe Di.

Also, you can dip a spoon in some melted chocolate, then stick it in the hot cocoa. Whalla! Some REALLY CHOCOLATY hot cocoa!

Great stuff. Actually one chocolate drink here has coconut in it.A no. no. for me with my allergies so using cocoa is better.
