According to survey done by this company called the Jenkins Group, 81 percent of Americans believe they have book in them. SIx million people hhave a manuscript, The percentage of the types of books people felt they could write:

28% Self-help/do-it-yorself

27% general nonfiction (history biography)

27% fiction

20% other type of book (cookbook, photo books, etc.)

Juts found the stats interesting for any writers out there.

wow.. interesting stats.

As president of the Florida Writers Assn., over here in Florida.. I think the stats are higher. :-)

We have over 450 members in our group and it just keeps growing. I think everyone in Florida is a writer!

ya know, I think it has something to do with retirement. Most people wait until after the kids are grown and all other "necessities" are out of the way before they write. For most people that's right around retirement.

And, everyone knows Florida ranks right up there as the number one retirement state.

So, what am I doing here? [Confused]
