Co-ed, elsewhere-talking/joking about menopause - 10/29/09 08:38 PM

Maybe I'm just hypersensitive/annoyed but I get abit tired of hearing about menopause in jokes, as a topic of discussion in real life face-to-face social settings. In both women-only and mixed co-ed groups.

I don't mind it here or in women-only forums where there is specific section on women's health, but there are times in my face-to-face life, I think menopause is discussed because it's the only topic that binds women together who don't know one another well or who do. Or there's nothing else to joke about or some women have to send a no-so-subtle reminder to men in earshot. (Do they care? I only care about men close to me, who just would understand if I had severe menopause symptoms. Otherwise it's none of their biz.)

Sorry, I'm just grumpy..

Orchid, I agree 100% with your comments and NO they are not grumpy comments. I bet we have all felt this way at one time or another. Sometimes enough, is just enough!!!
