"A loving person lives in a loving world. A hostile person lives in a
hostile world: everyone you meet is your mirror."

Ken Keyes, Jr.

The interdenominational group I belong to sent this quote today.

What do you think ladies? What world are we living in?

I'm thinking too...

I have met people and recognized the hostile me in them. It's like looking at a video of yourself and saying "I have to make some changes"

It jolted my memory of a poem I had taped inside my medicine cabinet for close to 20 years.

It's not about people as mirror self, but your own mirror image.

It's called "The Man in the Glass"

last verse goes something like this

"You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass,
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you´ve cheated the man in the glass"

Chick, love it. Thanks. [Wink] I know a minister who often preaches about OUR TRUE SELVES. I like that term, don't you?

Dots, I though the other day about not thinking of the world in its entirety, but thinking of the world on the tiny patch of ground we inhabit at any given moment. I thought about it because my daughter often complains when i talk to strangers, or smile and wave at people I don't know, or compliment a person's dog or baby....you know me so you know what I mean. Anyway, I think that if you meet a hostile person and respond w/ kindness, your little patch of hostile turf may become less hostile. And maybe if we can turn each patch loving, a little at a time we'll end up w/ a loving whole. You think?
