I'm so sorry about your son and wish him God's speed on his recovery. Sometimes it's hard to work things out and it does sound as if you company "might" make it hard on you if you left, but I would sure check with them and see. Not hell or high water could keep me from one of my children if they were hurt.

I hope your partner was compassionate about this situation, but I couldn't help but wonder if it were his child, would he feel the same?
